Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Bear with me, my brothers, by Allah, new problems arise more than once. We may be checking our accounts and procedures, but new problems arise.
Nevertheless, today is the twentieth of Ramadan, and we have questions about the nineteenth and twentieth parts. I await any comment from you until I am sure that the broadcast is going well. Alright. Then, dear guests, we begin the broadcast; in the name of Allah, praise be to Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Before we begin, I would like to talk about the leaders so far:
We now have eight questions, and we will start with the first one.
Question: Unlike the oppressors, blessings increase the humility, submission, and gratitude of believers to Allah the Almighty. Mention a verse that conveys this meaning.
Answer: The words of Allah the Almighty: {But when he saw it settled with him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful is only grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is free of need and generous."} The one who said these words was Sulayman, peace be upon him, in Surah An-Naml.
The first responder is Abdullah Shaloun, may Allah bless you, Abdullah. You are now the first leader.
Al-Sa'di, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "When Sulayman saw it settled with him, he praised Allah the Almighty for His ability, kingship, and ease of affairs for him, and said: {This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful}, meaning to test him with that. He did not become arrogant with his kingdom, authority, and power as is the habit of the ignorant kings, but he knew that this was a test from his Lord, so he feared that he would not fulfill the gratitude of this blessing." He then explained that this gratitude does not benefit Allah but rather its benefit returns to its owner.
Du'aa Ahmed also answered, and she is one of the leaders as well.
Question: Corruption can be caused by a few people, but it leads everyone to destruction. Mention a noble verse that refers to this meaning.
Answer: Brother Muhammad Abdullah (who is also one of the leaders) answered. Allah the Almighty said: {And in the city, there were nine men who caused corruption in the land and did not reform.}
These nine are the ones for whom Allah punished the people collectively. One might say, "What is the fault of the others?" The group was involved; those who committed this heinous act, conspired, planned, and executed were nine, but this was done with the silence, approval, and perhaps cooperation of everyone.
Asma Shahin also answered the question.
Question: A verse in which a group of polytheists acknowledge the truth of Islam while making a flimsy excuse for not following it. What is this verse?
Answer: Abdullah Shaloun answered. Allah the Almighty said: {And they said, "If we follow the guidance with you, we will be seized in our land." Have we not made for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know.}
Ibn Ashur said: "These are some of their excuses. A group of them, whom shame overcame to deny and openly disbelieve, and their familiarity with their state of disbelief overcame to acknowledge the truth, so they excused themselves with this excuse." It is narrated from Ibn Abbas that Al-Harith bin Uthman and some of the Quraysh said to the Prophet ﷺ: "We indeed know that your speech is true, but we fear that if we follow the guidance with you, the Arabs will seize us from our land."
Allah responded to them with His saying: {Have we not made for them a safe sanctuary}. Al-Kashaf said: "The Arabs in the pre-Islamic period used to surround them and fight among themselves, and they (the people of Mecca) were safe and secure in their sanctuary. If Allah granted them security and provision while they were disbelievers worshipping idols, then how would they be deprived of security if they added to the sanctuary of the House the sanctuary of Islam?"
Rabbi Allah also answered.
Question: A battlefield of jihad, indeed one of the greatest battlefields of jihad, available to all and mentioned in a noble verse. What is this battlefield or what is the verse?
Answer: Badini Ahya and Du'aa Ahmed answered. Allah the Almighty said: {So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with the Quran a great jihad.}
Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said in "Miftah Dar Al-Sa'ada": "This verse is in Surah Al-Furqan and it is Makki, and jihad with the sword was not prescribed at that time, so it indicates that seeking knowledge (Quranic sciences) is a way of Allah, because with it is the establishment of Islam as jihad is its establishment." This is a battlefield that does not end; that we confront the people of falsehood and disbelief with the Quran and refute their flimsy arguments with the arguments of the Quran.
Question: The believer has high aspirations and loves to progress in goodness. The Prophet ﷺ said: "If you ask Allah for Paradise, then ask Him for Al-Firdaus." Mention three words (from a verse) that indicate this meaning.
Answer: Muhammad Adel and Badini Ahya answered. Allah the Almighty said: {And make us for the righteous a leader.} Notice His saying, "And make us for the righteous a leader," not "from the righteous." These three words contain great high aspirations for goodness.
Question: A phrase repeated by a prophet from the prophets, not repeated except with him in this surah (twice), although it was mentioned for others from the prophets (once), and this agrees with the verses at the beginning of a surah named after him. What is this phrase?
Answer: Abdullah Shaloun and Maryam Lababidi answered. The phrase is: {So fear Allah and obey me.}
In Surah Al-Shu'araa, the prophets, peace be upon them, used to say this phrase, but Nuh, peace be upon him, said it twice in this surah. This agrees with the beginning of Surah Nuh in His saying: {That you should worship Allah, fearing Him and obeying me.}
Question: The believer loves for his brother what he loves for himself and fears for him as he fears for himself. Mention four words that indicate this meaning.
Answer: Sister Habiba Mahmoud (from Facebook and YouTube) answered. The words are: {They said, "Indeed, within it is Lot."}
These words came from the mouth of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, when the angels came to him to destroy the people of Lut. Ibrahim feared for his brother Lut, peace be upon him, and said: {Indeed, within it is Lot}, and the angels responded: {We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family.}
Question: One of the styles of the people of falsehood is to catch some mistakes of the believers, exaggerate them, and highlight them in the media. In this case, the people of truth should: admit the mistake, then respond to the people of falsehood by comparing their crimes to this mistake. Mention a verse from the previous parts that contains this meaning.
Answer: Many have mentioned the saying of Allah the Almighty: {He said, "I did it, and I was indeed of the astray."} [28:16], which suits the first part of the question (admitting the mistake). However, the verse that encompasses all elements of the question is the one answered by sister Heba Ahmed.
Allah the Almighty said: {They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the sacred month, "May [fighting] be fought therein?" Say, "Fighting therein is a great [transgression], but averting [people] from the path of Allah and disbelief in Him and [preventing access to] al-Masjid al-Haram and the expulsion of its people therefrom are greater with Allah. And oppression is worse than killing.} [Quran 2:217]
Context of the Verse: The Prophet ﷺ sent a raiding party of the companions, and fighting occurred in the sacred month by mistake. Quraysh then spread that Muhammad ﷺ had made the sacred months permissible. So, the verse was revealed to guide the Muslims on how to act:
With this, we conclude today's questions. We apologize once again for the delay due to reasons beyond our control and recurring technical problems.
Only three days remain of the competition, God willing; we will meet you on the 22nd, 24th, and 26th, then after that, we will take a break from the competition to devote ourselves to worship in the last ten days. This is an opportunity for everyone to strive more in worship.
May Allah bless us and you with the great Quran, and benefit us and you with its verses and wise remembrance. Peace be upon you, and mercy of Allah and His blessings.
