Rayan's Death Is Not a Sad Ending
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah
The Death of Ryan is Not a Sad Ending
The Moroccan child, Ryan, may Allah have mercy on him, be pleased with him, and grant patience to his parents and reunite them with him in Paradise. Let no one now say, "What a loss, the efforts were wasted." They were never wasted. Every person who donated money, exerted effort, or prayed for Ryan's salvation for the sake of Allah, Allah will not waste the reward of the good-doers, provided it is for the sake of Allah and not to cover up for a responsible party's negligence in public affairs.
The Ummah succeeded in the test of Ryan and did not fail. It was destined by Allah even before Ryan was created that Ryan would die as a child. He was created so that his memory would live on and inspire great meanings in the Ummah of Islam, as if Ryan fulfilled his mission and then departed.
Ryan: A Symbol and Meaning
Ryan departed after quenching a thirst in our hearts for beautiful meanings. Ryan departed after reviving in us the meaning of one Ummah, and after reviving in us the exaltation of the value of human life, and showing the good that is within us for ourselves and then for the peoples of the earth. Major global media outlets are now talking about Ryan and the efforts to save him and the concern of Muslim peoples for him.
Ryan showed that when we, as Muslims, focus on a subject, we direct the media instead of it directing our compass where it wills, and we create events instead of receiving calamities with our hands tied.
A Call to Action and Compassion
We want Ryan not to be a sad ending, but the beginning of a happy story in which we maintain this harmony, compassion, and empathy among Muslims. Imagine, my people, imagine if we, as Muslims, called out to each other with warmth, vigilance, concern, and aid for every needy person among us, just as we called out for Ryan, and just as we called out for our brothers in northern Syria.
May Allah not have mercy on us at that time, and may this not be a reason for lifting the humiliation from us. Why? Because Allah the Almighty said: "Do not be preoccupied with your lives at the expense of the issues of your Ummah. Strive for your sustenance and fulfill your social roles as fathers, mothers, and children, and at the same time, your hearts are with your Ummah, your great family. Concern for the Ummah is not sadness, not bitterness, but life for our hearts and gives a beautiful meaning to our lives, as we saw in the story of Ryan.
Major Issues of the Ummah
This charity that Ryan revealed in our hearts, show it to your needy brothers among you, visit them, help them. Show this charity to your brothers whose children have been taken away in the West, revive their cause, and embarrass the Western institutions that have started to stumble and react to the spotlight on the crime of taking Muslim children. Spread under the hashtag "Stop Kidnapping Our Children."
This mercy that Ryan revealed, show it to the families of Muslims, revive their memory, ask about them, spread the knowledge of their scholars, visit their families. Show this charity to the child of Daraa, Muhammad al-Iqtifan, who was kidnapped by a criminal gang torturing him to extort money from his family. Expose the plight of those who violate the people of Sunnah in the Levant and the international system that nurtures their persecution. Embarrass with the story of Muhammad al-Iqtifan and many others like him. Embarrass those who conspire with the conspirators against the people of Sunnah.
Conclusion
But events like Gaza, then northern Syria, then Ryan revive us anew. Maintain the momentum and know that Allah tests us with these events to see who among us does better. Ryan has departed to the side of a Merciful and Generous Lord, so be at ease, O parents of Ryan. And it remains our duty to revive our lives and the charity in our hearts with his memory.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
