Introduction to the Events in Sinai and Political Confusion
Peace be upon you. Brothers, it has been twenty-five days since the events in Sinai, and I have been searching for any detail or information that could help understand the position taken by the Egyptian president, the parties, and the Salafi scholars regarding the events in Sinai. I have hesitated to issue a statement on the matter due to the sensitivity of the situation and while waiting for the picture to become clearer; the events are moving at an unexpected speed and heading in a very dangerous direction.
In the previous statement titled "The Military Campaign on Sinai: The Sanctity of Believing Fabrications," I clarified that it is not permissible for a Muslim to believe the narrative of a spokesman for the Jewish army, nor the narrative of Egyptian security agencies that we have known to be professional in lying and fabricating charges, especially since the known jihadi organizations in Sinai have denied their involvement in the incident of killing the sixteen soldiers.
Political Analysis and Beneficiaries of the Operation
This is from the legal perspective. As for the political analysis, analysts point out that the operation is the work of the Zionist entity, and they mention the numerous evidence for this, and they clarify that the Zionists are the sole beneficiaries of this operation; especially after the qualitative operations carried out by the Mujahideen on the Egyptian borders, such as the "Ghazwa al-Nusra for al-Aqsa and the Prisoners" which was carried out two months ago on June 18th, targeting a Jewish patrol, and after the bombing of Egyptian gas lines to the Zionist entity 15 times, which received widespread popular welcome in Egyptian circles.
The Jews wanted to secure their borders against the Mujahideen and secure the gas lines, and give the Egyptian army the pretext to fill in the tunnels to Gaza. The Egyptian president opens the Rafah crossing today, but we do not know what he will do with it afterwards. Whether it is that the operation was carried out entirely by the Zionists or they succeeded in infiltrating individuals who were deceived, targeting the entire armed jihadi current in Sinai - including the organizations that denied their involvement in the killing of the soldiers - and directing the fingers of accusation at the jihadi current instead of the Zionist entity, and the direct media defamation campaign by the army against this current and Islamic concepts, so that the army declares with ease that the campaign targeted jihadists who want to establish an "Islamic Emirate" as if jihad and striving for an Islamic emirate are crimes; all this indicates that the operation is a conspiracy hatched by intelligence agencies, and we do not expect anything less from them.
Contradiction in the Egyptian Presidency's Position
However, what is surprising is what happened after that; after the Egyptian president, Mohamed Morsi, threatened that he would avenge the killers of the soldiers and that he had issued his orders to pursue them, lo and behold, his army targets whom? Does it target the Zionists? No, but it targets the armed current affiliated with jihad entirely, including the conscious organizations that limited their work to targeting the Zionist entity and the gas lines heading towards it.
I have delayed my statement on this matter until I verify this detail: "Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad Ali Abu al-Naja" may God have mercy on him, a commander of a Mujahideen battalion of seven members, who contacted his mother after the killing of the sixteen soldiers and assured her that he and his brothers had no connection whatsoever with this incident, and that they only launch rockets at Eilat and sabotage the gas lines heading to the Zionist entity. Then, the military campaign on Sinai targets him with a group of his Mujahideen brothers with a missile, killing them all, and the news reaches his family on the 27th of Ramadan.
Coordination with External Agendas
Therefore, what is happening is the implementation of the Zionists' agendas by targeting the Mujahideen who have limited their efforts to fighting the Zionist state, and this war on the Mujahideen is carried out in coordination with America and with its encouragement; where the United States rushed to support the military operation and emphasize the necessity of Egyptian-Israeli cooperation to ensure the security of Egypt's neighbors (meaning the Zionist entity), and confirmed the necessity of continuing the peace process as stated by the spokeswoman for the US State Department "Victoria Nuland" on August 23rd.
Moreover, the head of the political and security bureau in the Israeli Ministry of Defense "Amos Gilad" declared a few hours after the start of the Egyptian army's operation that he believes that Egypt is exerting its utmost efforts to impose its control over the Sinai Peninsula and combat terrorism there, as reported by the Jewish newspaper "Jerusalem Post."
So, this is a war on the Mujahideen with American-Zionist support and executed by the Egyptian army. However, this time - and unfortunately - this war is led by the "Islamic president" in the eyes of many and with his legal cover. It is feared that after this, Sinai will turn into another "Waziristan" and another "Abyan," where foreign aircraft assist the local army in the war against those who resist American policies.
Here is a Zionist plane killing on Sunday, August 26th, the legal judge "Ibrahim Aweida Nasser Breikat" while he was on his motorcycle, an assassination for an old score because they suspect him of targeting Zionists in a previous operation. This is a dangerous sign for Sinai to become a hunting ground for Jews who help the Egyptian army in bombing and targeting the Mujahideen. Then, the Egyptian president, after this serious Zionist violation two days later on August 28th, reassures this entity that there will be no interference with the "Camp David" treaty. Is this the response to their clear involvement in the killing of the sixteen soldiers and then the killing of Ibrahim Aweida?
Message to the Defenders of the Military Campaign
So, I say to those who defend the military campaign after all this or justify Dr. Mohamed Morsi's position on it: Fear Allah. My words are an awakening of the good that is in your hearts, my words are not of the kind "we and you," but I want them to be a cry from within your consciences.
You know very well that the enemies of Islam resort to generalization to take the sincere with the guilt of some individuals, this is an old, exposed, and blatant method. It is a shame that this passes by you, O Egyptian Muslim Brothers, and those who claim to be Salafis in Egypt. We do not want to lose you, we do not want you to become a tool in the hands of your enemies without you realizing it. By Allah, then by Allah, our meeting with you and the jihadi factions as beloved brothers cooperating in righteousness and piety is more beloved to us than the world and all that is in it.
What is happening is the implementation of recommendations from Western strategic planning centers to strike Islamic-affiliated currents against each other; today's turn is for the jihadi currents, and tomorrow's turn will be for you. Let what happened in Iraq be a lesson for you. By Allah, then by Allah, we do not wish for your extermination and replacement, but we hope for your guidance and that Allah will be kind to you and return you to the truth in a beautiful return.
Questions About the Alliance with Security Agencies
How do you accept striking all the currents affiliated with jihadi work? Has securing the borders of the Zionist entity and its gas lines become acceptable to you? Has the alliance with the students of Mubarak in the Egyptian security agencies become acceptable? Are these not the agencies that have long fought you as well? Whose mission over the past years has been to secure the borders of the Zionist entity, to fill in the tunnels for the people of Gaza, to threaten with violence during their campaigns in Upper Egypt, to hand over our sisters who have embraced Islam to the churches, and to practice thuggery by gouging out eyes in the Battle of the Camel, Muhammad Mahmud Street, Abaseya, Port Said, and others?
How have these agencies suddenly become an acceptable and trustworthy ally in spreading security and carrying out selective operations to target "criminal hotspots," crush "terrorism," and combat "deviant thought"? Has Morsi's leadership turned them with a blink of an eye into honest, sincere, and trustworthy forces that we follow and rely on their definition of terrorism?
The Responsibility of President Mohamed Morsi for the Campaign
When we see the army's violations during its campaign and Dr. Mohamed Morsi is held responsible, he is excused by saying he has no control over the army. On the other hand, his leadership of the army and security agencies is said to have suddenly turned these agencies into righteous sons of the nation and the homeland, which could only happen with complete control. Does he have control or not?
Then, Dr. Mohamed Morsi, are you not the one who boasted about the campaign saying, "The campaign that I lead personally," as in the Laylat al-Qadr celebration? And you changed the leadership of the army during the campaign. Everything that happens in the operation is done by your leaders whom you appointed. Why do you ignore the calls from those who ask you to stop the violations, such as Dr. Wajdi Ghanim, the "Hazemoun" movement, and Sheikh Mohamed Shaker al-Sharif? What is your response to them?
Should we, Dr. Mohamed Morsi, think well of you and your intentions while you put your hand in the hands of the students of Hosni Mubarak, and America praises you for killing Muslims? Or do the party members believe in the infallibility of Mohamed Morsi, just as the Shia believe in the infallibility of the Twelve Imams?
Absence of Justice and Legal Investigation
By what religion and by what custom are the mujahideen in Sinai punished without investigation, trial, evidence, or defense? But rather, it is direct killing and burying the secrets of the case with them. What can we expect after that to trust the army and think well of it?
Do you not see, you who accuse the mujahideen, that during the military campaign they did not target the army, nor even defend themselves? But there was killing, arrest, raiding of homes, confiscation of weapons, and violation of sanctuaries, and no case was recorded of the mujahideen firing on the army. Does this not indicate to you that the campaign targeted people who are aware and refuse to be drawn into a battle with the army and bear harm for the sake of Allah lest their jihad be tarnished?
Response to the Excuse of "Takfiris and Khawarij"
Is your excuse, Dr. Mohamed Morsi, before Allah and before the people that there are indeed Takfiri groups present in Sinai? And is the punishment of these Takfiris in the religion of Allah killing? And by what evidence is their blood made permissible? Are they held accountable for their ideas? If so, are the Egyptian security apparatuses trustworthy in trying their ideas and holding them accountable for them?
Is it permissible to hold a Muslim accountable for the sin of another? If it is true that some of them have excess, does that justify killing, arresting, torturing, terrorizing families, and confiscating the weapons of every mujahid in Sinai who has prepared for jihad against the Jews?
O President, O party members, O Salafis; what is your definition of Takfiris and Khawarij? Did not the Prophet peace be upon him say about them: "They kill the people of Islam and call the people of idols"? Who is more deserving of this description: the mujahideen who declare that their weapon is prepared for the Jews only, or those who fight them at a time when they do not only leave the polytheists alone, but also appoint a Christian in the presidency and our sisters are still detained in their monasteries? And they do not only kill a Muslim in Sinai, but also assure the Jews of the continuation of "Camp David"? Who is more deserving of the description of Khawarij?
The Reality of the Military Campaign and Its Objectives
Are you deceived by the media's hype about the military campaign, considering that pushing the army into Sinai aroused the displeasure of the Zionists? What is the benefit of that if the campaign is entirely in favor of the Jews and not a single Zionist soldier has been harmed? Or do you think that the Zionists fear that the army will cross the borders and sweep into Palestine to liberate Al-Aqsa?
What is the benefit, O Mohamed Morsi, of your changing the leadership of the army if the policies remain the same? Leaders from the era of Mubarak continue to wage war on the mujahideen, and even your change of leadership does not leave any doubt about your responsibility for what the army does.
O you who defend the military campaign and launch unfair general descriptions that include everyone who has joined the jihad work in Sinai, remember the saying of your Lord, may He be glorified and exalted: [The text ends here]
