The Reality of the CEDAW Institutions in Palestine
Peace be upon you, dear guests. The people of Palestine are known for referring to "NGOs" as institutions funded by the West. However, after the infamous "CEDAW" convention emerged and these Western-funded institutions supported it despite the widespread public rejection of the convention, the people of the country began referring to them as "CEDAW institutions."
What is the reality of these institutions that have declared war on the people of Palestine? And on whom do they rely in their war against the people of the country? In this discussion, we will present, God willing, some shocking facts about these institutions. So, please be patient until the end.
Definition of CEDAW Institutions and Their Scope of Work
Firstly, all institutions categorized under the term "NGOs" include human rights organizations, research and statistics centers, advisory institutions, family planning associations, institutions working in rural areas, marginalized regions, and Bedouin communities, as well as many media institutions and more; all fall under what we refer to as "CEDAW institutions."
Especially those institutions that deal with projects of the UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund), where this fund finances many activities and initiatives in society to spread Western ideas and concepts.
Dr. Bakr Yasin Shatayeh, a lecturer in the Department of Economics at An-Najah University and former head of the department, states that the number of non-governmental organizations in the Palestinian territories is 3,000 organizations, with 2,200 in the West Bank and 800 in the Gaza Strip.
He also points out that foreign funding for these institutions exceeded one billion dollars according to official government estimates, while estimates from the Authority of Civil Society Affairs indicate that the total amount received by these institutions exceeded one billion and 600 million dollars.
Examples of Funding for Women's Centers
Let's take some examples of funding for these institutions:
- Women's Affairs Center (Gaza): Received one million and 138 thousand dollars in 2018, and one million and 37 thousand dollars in 2017. These revenues are injected into the Gaza Strip while being prevented from reconstruction and matters that benefit the people of the country, and are limited to spreading Western concepts.
- Women's Center for Legal and Social Counseling: Directed by Randa Sannoura, received one million and 900 thousand dollars in 2019 from various sources, in addition to two million euros from the European Union in the same year. We notice an increase in its funding from two million dollars in 2011 to more than four million dollars annually, and this increase is proportional to the size of the attack on innate nature and religion.
- Center for Women's Studies: Directed by Samia Bannoura, this is the center that authored the infamous "Guide to Opposing Child Marriage," received more than 700 thousand dollars in 2014.
- Miftah Center: Headed by Hanan Ashrawi, received one million and 700 thousand dollars in 2021, and obtained hundreds of thousands of euros as part of extended funding plans.
Direct Relationship with Embassies and Consulates
It is clear that these institutions are connected to embassies; the German representation and the French consulate presented an award to one of the directors of the women's centers overseeing the "Guide to Opposing Child Marriage," which was introduced into schools from the seventh to the eleventh grade.
French President Macron also met with the director of the "Al-Haq" Foundation, and the British Consul General Diane Corner met with activists of "gender" in Gaza. These repeated meetings with consuls (British, Swedish, Austrian, and French) confirm that these institutions work as tools to implement external agendas, making their relationship with funding suspicious, especially since embassies and representations are often nests for information and intelligence.
Moral Agendas and International Reports
The "Women's Center for Legal and Social Counseling" submits reports to the international "CEDAW" committee, in which it demands the imposition on the people of Palestine:
- Permitting adultery and abortion.
- Protecting lesbians, bisexuals, and "sexually free" individuals.
Despite the popular rejection of these recommendations, the centers remain steadfast in them to ensure the continuation of generous funding. The "Forum Against Violence Against Women" also threatens the people of Palestine with resorting to what it calls "international justice" and the West to protect them from the local community.
Areas of Intervention of CEDAW Institutions in Society
In the next axis, I will present you with models of the work of CEDAW institutions; they intervene in educational curricula, extracurricular activities, and in the enactment of laws. They also communicate with various groups of women, youth, people with disabilities, and patients, attempting to change their convictions and exploit their needs under the corrupt system, and lure them into their dens under deceptive titles.
These institutions always try to attribute every negative action by individuals to Islam and work to generalize and stereotype these individual cases. In addition to submitting periodic reports to foreigners, they enter all institutions, centers, and schools under the title of "gender institution."
Infiltration into State Institutions and Courts
These institutions implement their agendas through several tracks:
- Health System: They name their projects "reproductive health" projects.
- Sharia and Regular Courts: They give lectures on gender and intervene in family courts in disputes related to women and children to divert them from religion.
- Awqaf (Religious Endowments): They enter with lectures they call "awareness" where they meet with scholars, preachers, and orators.
The CEDAW institutions aim to launch cunning and deceptive titles to lure women and girls, such as "psychological support sessions" or "training on referral paths and gender-based violence." If we delve into the content, we find that they apply with the occupation, where they describe the Zionist wars on Gaza as the "latest escalation," as if the issue is a simple dispute and not a Zionist attack on the blessed land.
Targeting Children and Schools
Among their models of work are the booklets and books they publish in schools, such as the "Work Ethics Handbook" which disrespects the honor of the Messenger of God peace be upon him and the verses of the Holy Book. Also, the "Guide to Opposing Child Marriage" which shows on its cover an unmarried girl looking happy, while the mother and the married woman appear in a scene of a frightened, terrified, crying person. This is a clear message to our children to oppose natural marriage.
The Clear Stance on Islamic Law
In the final section, we reveal the truth about their position on Islam through their statements in international and Western forums, where they declare their war on Palestine and its people:
- Targeting Privacy: They openly state that their mandate extends to "bedrooms" and places of worship, focusing on changing the "Personal Status Law" that affects all aspects of life.
- Viewing Sharia as an Obstacle: They demand legislation that is distant from Islamic law, considering that "laws wrapped in the narrative of Sharia" are the root of injustice based on gender, and they strive to create a "secular network" that adopts the international human rights discourse.
- Promoting Coeducation: They boast about introducing coeducation in schools from the earliest primary grades and generalizing it in various Palestinian cities and villages, considering that relationships among teenagers should follow the global approach.
- Justifying Funding: They justify receiving foreign money by claiming they are not "spies" and that their accounts are monitored by the monetary authority and banks, in an attempt to legitimize this suspicious infiltration.
Conclusion and Hope
Dear esteemed audience, no matter how much these Western-affiliated institutions receive support and funding, victory and supremacy belong to the nation. There is no room for despair or retreat from defending Islamic principles, for we are certainly victorious, but we work to find our place in this victory.
Allah the Almighty says: "Allah will not leave the believers in the state you are in until He separates the evil from the good. Nor will Allah disclose to you the unseen, but Allah chooses from His messengers whom He wills. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And if you believe and fear Him, then for you is a great reward." (Quran 3:179)
And He, the Most High, says: "And be patient, for your patience is not except through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire. Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good." (Quran 16:127-128) Verily, Allah speaks the truth.
