They Called Them "Honor Crimes" Then It Turned Out Otherwise!
Introduction to the Incident
In one of the forgotten incidents in Afghanistan, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) of NATO announced in 2010 the discovery of four civilian bodies, including two pregnant women. It was mentioned that the apparent cause was "honor crimes," and that the Taliban might be responsible for the incident, as the victims may have been accused of adultery or collaboration with NATO.
However, journalist Jerome Starkey went to the scene of the incident and conducted an investigation on the matter, which he published in the newspaper "The Times." He revealed that what happened was completely different from the military narrative that was circulated by media outlets like CNN. Subsequently, some newspapers such as "The Times" and "The New York Times" published the true story under headlines such as: "NATO Hid a Failed Night Raid in Afghanistan That Killed Five People."
The True Story
What is the true story? In 2014, one can start reading about this particular story on page 21. The summary is that an Afghan family was celebrating the birth of a new baby when they were raided by international forces who opened fire on them. The result was that an elderly man lost four of his children: two sons and two daughters, in addition to one of his grandchildren. The two daughters were pregnant, one of them a mother of ten children and the other of six children.
However, the soldiers removed the bullets from the bodies of the victims to cover up their act. Remember how, before this was discovered, the statement to the media was that the international forces had discovered the bodies of "honor crimes" victims, possibly carried out by the Taliban. Therefore, verify and criticize what you hear. Peace be upon you.
