When Should You Not Think?!

With the Quran to calm the soul with faith and recite it with devotion, and you will be showered with the bounty of contentment and the clouds of forgiveness. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.

My brother, my sister, sometimes it is better not to think. Strange words, aren't they? When you hear the word of Allah, think and contemplate to know what Allah wants from you. But after this, do not think or calculate whether you are responding to Allah's command or not? Because after knowing the divine command, any thought or calculation is from Satan and the self that incites to evil, they cooperate to make you fail in obeying Allah.

When Not to Think?

Allah the Almighty says: "Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit indecency." Satan threatens you with poverty if you pay the zakat and give charity, and he whispers to you about indecency, which in this verse specifically means refraining from paying zakat.

Applying the Rule to Zakat

After that, Allah says: "But Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself and bounty. And Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing." Forgiveness for your sins, and worldly bounty by giving you if you spend and bless you in your wealth.

Therefore, your thought of not paying zakat, your thought of stopping helping your needy sister, your thought of stopping allocating an amount for your mother every month to spend on herself, this thinking is from Satan. He whispers to you: The future of your children is more important, tomorrow your expenses will increase, you will have to borrow, you will have to sell your house, and so on. Cut off the thought from the beginning because they are all whispers, and say to yourself: "But Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself and bounty."

Applying the Rule to Courageous Situations

And thus, judge all other duties in the same way. This verse has many applications. A situation requires you to take a courageous stance to support your oppressed and weak brothers, Satan will make you fail. The same rule: "Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit indecency." Here, Satan frightens you with the tyranny of the oppressors and orders you to be cowardly. And Allah promises you protection and salvation from the oppressors if you take the stance that Allah loves. And cut off the thought of the consequences.

Applying the Rule to Hijab

Do you want to wear the hijab and fear the reaction of your non-committed environment? Satan frightens you with criticism from those around you and orders you to uncover. And Allah promises you that He will be a companion for you instead of those who left you, and He will make some of them follow you in this obedience.

The Promise of Satan and the Promise of Allah

These are the promises of Satan, which are met with the promise of Allah. As for Satan: "He promises them and lures them, but what Satan promises them is not but delusion." On the other hand, the promise of Allah: "Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know." Which of the two promises will you believe?

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
