Warning Against Fraudsters Using the Name of Iyad Qannibi

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, dear people. It has been repeated that some fraudsters use the name of your brother Iyad Qannibi for the purpose of collecting money.

Common Types of Fraud

Among them are those who claim to know me and collect money, pretending that they will give me this money to give to the needy. And among them are those who sell the printing rights of some books for high amounts, claiming that half of it goes to me, and I have no relation to the matter.

The website Net tries to obtain user information by attaching a video of mine from the competition "Explaining Everything" with a picture that has nothing to do with the competition. And Allah has made it easy for us to discover some of them through clips sent to us with their voices, and each of them pretends to be pious.

My Stance on Collecting Donations

I would like to say, dear people: Beware of anyone who associates the name of the poor servant with money. I do not collect donations, neither secretly nor publicly, and I do not say this to protect those who collect donations as some may assume, but I say it clearly: Anyone who claims to collect donations for me is a fraudster.

And I, dear people, barely find the time and effort to distribute the zakat of my money or my charity or part of the charity of my close family. So I say it clearly: I do not accept donations from anyone, so no one should send me any money.

And when any of the brothers asks about the needy or a form of goodness, Allah the Almighty has enriched me from His bounty, and praise be to Allah. And I am at the top of my university work, which is enough for me by the grace of Allah the Almighty. And I hope to live and die embodying the saying of the prophets, peace be upon them: "And O my people, I do not ask you for any money."

Clarifications About My Work and Writings

At the same time, I do not blame my brothers who have devoted themselves to preaching and spreading awareness and do not have an income source that is enough for them. If I hold specialized courses for a financial fee in the future, it will be clear through my platforms that they are for a fee, and I will not entrust anyone to collect money without announcement.

And my books that are sold and I earn a percentage from, I strive to make them relatively inexpensive to be within everyone's reach, and many of them are available on the internet originally. To prevent the exploitation that unfortunately happened, publish the names of the approved publishing houses on my page, which I agreed with them not to exaggerate the prices.

So any book of the poor servant is sold at an exaggerated price, know that this is exploitation that I do not know about.

So beware, dear people, of anyone who associates my name with money. And this matter of donations needs to be revisited again, for there are mafias and many cases of fraud, and many of them have a "baby face" and appear generous and their speech is comforting and they give you advice.

So take care, and advice for the sake of Allah the Almighty: The best thing is to deliver the donations to any party by your hand. And Allah is the one we seek help from, and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
