Has the topic of Moroccan child Rayan been exaggerated? The answer: No, the topic has not been exaggerated. Why? Because the topic is already huge; for a child to fall into a hole and be at risk of death, this is a huge topic.
Some may ask: What about the thousands of children and Muslims here and there who are killed every day? I say: Their topic is also important. People, it is necessary not to belittle the blood of any Muslim, even if he is a small child in any part of the world. We preserve the saying of Allah the Almighty: {That whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.} (Quran 5:32)
The human soul is important and of great value to Allah the Almighty, especially the soul of the Muslim. This child is destined to be a believer tomorrow, celebrated by the angels, his good deeds recorded, honored and remembered in the highest assembly; therefore, his blood is important and his topic is important. We ask Allah to aid those who are trying to rescue him, reward them with goodness, and help them accomplish this mission.
What about our children in Syria, in Iraq, everywhere, in India, and in China? We say the same; we must also celebrate and care about our children and brothers and sisters all over the world. Of course, at the same time, there was an airstrike yesterday or the day before in northern Syria and children were also killed, and the media did not pay enough attention to them. This does not mean that we should not care about Rayan, but we say: We care about Rayan, Rayan is important, and we raise our concern for the affairs of Muslims to the same level.
The goal is not to be broken or discouraged, but to be truly as our Lord the Almighty has commanded us: {And indeed, this, your ummah, is one ummah} (Quran 23:52), and as our Prophet peace be upon him said: "The example of believers in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion is like the example of a single body; when one part of it feels pain, the rest of the body responds with fever and sleeplessness."
How great is this phenomenon that all Muslims unite! Everyone is tweeting about the topic, everyone is talking, everyone is praying for Rayan. This melts the borders between Islamic peoples and countries, and achieves the opposite of what our enemies intend, and the opposite of what those who have cut the body of the Ummah into pieces intend.
Remember, dear guests, that our enemies want to convey a message to us: "As a Muslim, you have no value or consideration among people, while if you were non-Muslim, the whole world would care about you." Do not be affected by this negative message; as a Muslim, you are of great value to Allah the Almighty, celebrated by the highest assembly as long as you are a believing monotheist.
Therefore, dear guests, this is a beautiful phenomenon; notice how wonderful it is! At the same time that Muslims from all directions unite to support their brothers in northern Syria, everyone sends donations, and children in Palestine and women remove their jewelry out of mercy for their brothers in northern Syria, the entire Ummah also unites for this child in Morocco.
It is a great phenomenon through which we convey messages to ourselves first: that we are one nation, that the actions of our enemies will not succeed with us, that we will love each other and unite and be one nation, God willing.
And it is a message conveyed to the whole world; remember the saying of Umar ibn al-Khattab may God be pleased with him - in the tradition that may rise to the level of hasan: "If a camel (and in one narration a load, and in another narration a sheep) perished on the bank of the Euphrates, I would fear being asked about it." Notice, as Muslims, we are concerned with the kindness to animals, that a cow does not stumble in the corner of Iraq, nor a camel perishes on the bank of the Euphrates, so how about the children of Muslims?
Yes, Rayan's topic is important, and it is very beautiful that we show empathy, harmony, and alliance, and that all Muslims speak about it. And we also want to raise the level of concern for the rest of the Islamic nation to the same level; not to mourn, but so that we may invoke the mercies of our Lord the Almighty when He sees us as one nation as He has commanded, Glorified and Exalted be He.
Therefore, in this blessed hour before the sunset of Friday, we ask Allah the Great, the Lord of the Great Throne, to save you, O Rayan, and return you to your family safely and in good health, that you may grow up and become a groom and be among the righteous believers, and that He may admit you to His Paradise, Glorified and Exalted be He, and that He may be pleased with His decree upon us in all circumstances.
