Speaking on behalf of the "Youth Campaign for Cooperation," Dr. Iyad Qunaybi, may he be rewarded.
Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. Peace be upon you and God's mercy.
Allah the Almighty says: {You are the best nation ever raised up for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong.} Why are we the best nation, O Lord? {You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong.} The virtue of Muhammad's nation is linked to this characteristic: enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong.
And the Almighty says in contrast, in contrast to the nation of Muhammad, He said: {Cursed were the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and Jesus, the son of Mary, because they disobeyed and transgressed. They used not to forbid one another from the evil they did.} If one of them commits a sin, the other does not forbid him, and consequently, both parties deserve to be cursed: the one who commits the sin, and the one who is pleased with this sin and keeps silent about it.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "If a sin is committed on earth, then whoever is absent from it but is pleased with it is like the one who witnessed it." You are in your place here in Amman. If you do not participate in any activity in "Jerash," but nevertheless, you are pleased with it and accept these shameless excuses—the economic and cultural excuses—then you are a participant in this evil, and "he who witnessed it and then denied it is like the one who was absent from it."
We stand in this stance, disassociating ourselves to Allah, the Exalted, from this festival and from those who organize it. We console our brothers and sisters in Syria. We console our brothers and sisters in "Daraa," which is only 41 kilometers away from Jerash, perhaps less than the distance between Jerash and Amman.
The borders of "Sykes-Picot" were not brought down by the Quran, nor by any authentic or weak hadith, nor did any of the Companions, the Four Imams, or those who followed them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment say anything about them. Therefore, we do not recognize anything but that we are one nation. The Almighty says: {Indeed, this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.}
We stand in this stance to deny evil, and the greatest evil is the failure to apply the law of Allah, the Exalted. This leads to corruption in morals, behavior, souls, wealth, and every aspect of life. However, we say: everything has its limit, and it is unreasonable that in such circumstances, and only 41 kilometers away from slaughter, killing, and violation of honor, such festivals are held at my expense, your expense, and the expense of the poor Jordanian who cannot find what to feed his children.
We disassociate ourselves to Allah, the Exalted, from this festival. We send a message to our brothers and sisters in Syria: We ask you not to invoke curses upon us. We ask you not to invoke curses upon the Jordanians. By Allah, I fear the invocation of a woman whose daughter was raped, whose children were killed, whose husband was killed, and who was driven from her home, if she says: "O Allah, bring upon the people of Jordan what You brought upon us." By Allah, we fear this invocation, for there is no barrier between the invocation of the oppressed and Allah.
O my brothers, disassociate yourselves to Allah, the Exalted, from this great evil. We address those who intend to participate in this festival: We appeal to them for the love of Allah and His Messenger. If this love is not present, we appeal to them for humanity, nobility, and dignity.
Know that there are people in the world who are not Muslims who stand in solidarity with the people of Syria; there are children in Sweden, Germany, Britain, and America—children, men, and women who stand in protest for our people in Syria. Shame on us, disgrace on us, it is forbidden for us, and it is a sin for us if non-Muslims have more nobility, honor, and chivalry than we, the followers of Muhammad, peace be upon him.
We ask Allah, the Great Lord of the Honorable Throne, to make this festival fail and to make it empty on its thrones. We ask Allah to guide everyone to what He loves and is pleased with. May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon Muhammad and his companions.
