Who will Shafik vote for
The result of the elections is not what concerns me, for in these elections, the winner is the loser...What concerns me is you
The result of the elections is not what concerns me, for in these elections, the winner is the loser...What concerns me is you
Peace be upon you and the mercy of God and His blessings. These words are addressed to the Egyptian people who have shown the world their courage and rejection of injustice; the people whom we respect and who are the most compassionate and loving of their Lord, their religion, and their Prophet (peace be upon him). The people who respond to the word of goodness with humility and kindness.
Firstly, I am not Egyptian; I am Jordanian. However, I have visited Egypt many times and many of my friends are Egyptian. I am a doctor, a teacher, and a researcher in the field of medicine, holding a PhD from the University of Houston in America. These words are about the presidential elections.
You may ask, "What business is it of yours in our elections?" Of course, my brothers, in Islam, there is no "we and you," but we have the saying of God Almighty: {And indeed, this, your ummah, is one ummah, and I am your Lord, so fear Me} (Quran 21:92). And we have the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Like one body." I ask my Egyptian brother to listen to me because I have no interest in these elections at all; I am not from the Party of Light nor from the Party of Freedom and Justice, and I have not and will not support anyone for the presidency.
Why do I not support anyone? Because I am with the Sharia; the Sharia brought by Muhammad (peace be upon him). The ongoing elections will not bring a president who applies the Sharia, and I have explained and continue to explain this in a series titled "Defending the Sharia."
In a previous episode, I addressed the pious and said to them: Since the Sharia will not be applied, I advise you to boycott all elections and not vote for anyone. These elections, which are held under the supervision of the military council and behind them America, are a farce that will bring no good. However, I still have to address those who want to vote for "Shafiq," and this is a message specifically for these people.
To those who vote for Shafiq, even though they see him day and night saying that there is no place for the application of the Sharia ever, and he wants to erase the verses of the Quran from the curricula and wants to teach children texts from the Gospel; I ask you, O you who want to vote for Shafiq after all this: Why will you vote for him?
Is it because he has experience? In what? In suppressing Islam and humiliating the country for America, as his master before him, "Hosni Mubarak," did? Will you vote for him because he will provide you with security? Security from what? Think about security from the punishment of God, who if He punishes the country for choosing someone who fights His Sharia, then neither Shafiq nor anyone else will stand in the way of God's punishment.
O you who will vote for Shafiq, are you not afraid for your Islam? You will say, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." What is the benefit if you bear witness that there is no god but Allah, but you worship others with Him? Obeying someone who fights the Sharia is worshiping him.
Do you want proof that this obedience is worship? I will not mention the words of any of the scholars, but the one who ruled on this is the Messenger of God (peace be upon him). How? Uday bin Hatim came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and heard him reciting the verse: {They have taken their rabbis and their monks as lords besides Allah} (Quran 9:31). This verse describes the Jews and Christians as taking the rabbis and monks as lords (plural of lord) besides Allah.
Uday said, "O Messenger of God, they did not worship them (meaning they do not pray to them)." Look how the Prophet (peace be upon him) defined worship, he said, "Yes, they forbade them from what is permissible and permitted them what is forbidden, so they followed them, so that is their worship of them."
The meaning of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) words is that if someone comes and forbids what God has permitted and permits what God has forbidden, and you follow and obey him with your approval, you are a worshiper of him besides God. Why? Because legislation is an attribute of God Almighty: {Unto Him is creation and commandment} (Quran 7:54). Just as He created you, He is the One who has the right to legislate for you: {Or have they partners who have legislated for them from the religion that which Allah has not permitted?} (Quran 42:21).
Therefore, obeying someone who rules contrary to the Sharia, legislates laws for that, and forces people to respect and apply them and punishes those who disobey, even if he does not say, "This is the Sharia of God," and even if he does not say, "This is permissible and this is forbidden," but says, "I will not apply the Sharia and I will erase the verses from the curricula"; then you not only obey him but you vote for him to become president and support him to fight the Sharia of God? By doing so, you make him a lord besides God, permitting what God has forbidden and forbidding what God has permitted.
God Almighty said: {And I have not created the jinn and mankind except to worship Me} (Quran 51:56), and worship includes absolute obedience. Can you imagine that God would accept from you that you worship Him in the mosque and worship others in the rest of your life by obeying them in what contradicts the command of God?
O you who want to vote for Shafiq, what is your excuse before God? Do you not know that Shafiq is an enemy of the Sharia of God and a friend of the enemies of God? If you do not know and do not follow his statements, then go and follow the words of the one you want to vote for as president before you vote for him. I am not talking about his fighting the Brotherhood or the Salafis, our case here is not the Brotherhood nor the Salafis, our case here is the case of Islam, the case of the Sharia; this man fights Islam, fights the Sharia, and fights the Quran.
O man, God Almighty said: {And do not incline toward the wrongdoers, lest the Fire touch you, and you have no protectors other than Allah; then you will not be helped} (Quran 11:113). "Do not incline" means do not lean even slightly, so what about the one who votes for him as president to fight the Sharia using his position and using iron and fire?
What is your excuse before God? Is there someone who hates you and forces you to vote for Shafiq? Do you know that if there is someone who will force you to vote for Shafiq, then you should leave Egypt until the elections are over so that there is no coercion?
What is the evidence? In the days of our Prophet (peace be upon him), some of the Muslims who had converted remained in Mecca and did not migrate with the Prophet (peace be upon him) to Medina because they preferred to stay in their businesses, trades, families, and homes, even though they knew that the polytheists of Mecca might force them to do something forbidden. When the polytheists of Mecca went out to fight the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the Battle of Badr, they took these Muslims with them by force, meaning some of these Muslims were in the army of the polytheists against the army of the Muslims.
Some of these were killed in the battle, so the Companions came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) asking about the fate of these coerced Muslims, and God Almighty revealed the verse: {And when the angels take the souls of those who have wronged themselves, they will say, "In what [condition] were you?" They will say, "We were oppressed in the land." The angels will say, "Was not the earth of Allah spacious [enough] for you to emigrate therein?" (Quran 4:97). Were you not able to leave this place so that you would not be forced to fight the Muslims?
So what is the reward of those who were killed? Did God forgive them? No, but He said: {For those, their refuge will be Hell, and wretched is the destination} (Quran 4:97). So what about when you go of your own accord to vote for someone who fights the religion of God Almighty?
I want to remind you again, it is not the elections that concern me. These elections are not for the implementation of Allah's law. "Verily, all things except Allah are vain"; these elections are vain, and the winner in them is a loser because he will fill a seat in a non-Islamic system and will be held accountable before Allah for suspending the rulings of Allah's religion. He will not say to the military council or to America behind them, "No."
What concerns me is not the elections. It is you who concerns me; you who will lose everything as soon as you vote for Shafiq. Because elections are "representation," meaning you delegate him to act on your behalf. By voting, you declare your partnership with Shafiq in fighting Allah, His religion, and His Messenger.
What will be your excuse before Allah when you stand on the Day of Judgment before Allah, the Most High, naked, alone, and unique? If your Lord, the Most High, asks you, "Why did you choose Ahmed Shafiq when you know he fights My law?" What will you say to your Lord, the Most High? Will you say, "O Lord, I voted for him because I hated the Brotherhood and the Salafis"?
O brother: "Be just; that is closer to piety. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do." Be upright for Allah, witnesses of justice (meaning with justice). Is testifying for this man who fights the Sharia worthy of being president of Egypt a just testimony in the balance of Allah? "And let not hatred of a people incite you to transgress. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness." And hatred is enmity, meaning your hatred for the Brotherhood and the Salafis in this case should not drive you to injustice.
I will not tell you now to be just with them or to generalize about them, as they are not all the same. Let us leave that for now. Now, I ask you to be just with yourself, to be just with your country, to be just with your religion, and not to vote for someone who fights the Sharia of Allah, the Most High.
O you who want to vote for Shafiq, what will you say to Allah? Will you say, "O Lord, Shafiq was pleasing to America and they gave him grants, so I thought he might benefit me with love and I would get an increase in my salary or the welfare of the country?" Will you be pleased to sell your religion and your hereafter for the sake of this worldly life? Will Shafiq benefit you in your hereafter?
Allah, who created you and then provided for you, then causes you to die and then brings you to life; is Shafiq or America among your partners who can do any of these things for you?
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Hasten to perform good deeds before trials come like pieces of a dark night. A man may wake up as a believer and go to bed as a disbeliever, or go to bed as a believer and wake up as a disbeliever, selling his religion for a morsel of this world." It is possible that you go to bed as a believer, and someone convinces you to vote for Shafiq under the pretense that he will achieve worldly gains for you, so you vote for him and thus sell your religion for a morsel of this world, losing everything.
Voting for Shafiq while knowing his condition is an exit from Islam, even if Shafiq loses the elections; because your voting for him is in itself a crime and a fight against the religion of Allah, regardless of the result of the elections. If you are determined in your heart to vote for him and die before you do, you will be held accountable for this intention, as it is an intention to support someone who fights the Sharia of Allah, the Most High.
If you encourage anyone with a word to vote for Shafiq, you will be held accountable for it; the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A man may utter a word by which the pleasure of Allah is incurred, and he thinks it is insignificant, but Allah writes it for him until the Day he meets Him." It is possible that your Lord seals your heart and hates you until the Day you meet Him with this word, by encouraging the election of someone who fights the Sharia of Allah.
Will you say to Allah: I voted for Shafiq because I am in the Central Security or in the army? Meaning, do you want to appoint a tyrant who fights the Sharia to give you privileges? Allah, the Most High, said: "And those who disbelieve fight in the way of Taghut." And Shafiq is a Taghut, yes, a Taghut even if his name is Ahmed Shafiq. The leader of the hypocrites during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was named Abdullah ibn Abi, and the Rafidi who aided the Tatars in the destruction of the Abbasid state in Baghdad was named Muhammad ibn al-Ulaqmi; names do not matter.
Will you say to Allah on the Day of Judgment: "O my Lord, I voted for Shafiq for the sake of the future of my children?" Allah, the Most High, said: "And let those fear who would leave behind them weak offspring if they should fear for them, let them fear Allah and say a straight word that He may be pleased with it." If you are afraid for your dependents, then fear Allah and say a straight word that pleases Him, the Most High. But to vote for Shafiq so that he deletes the Quran from the curricula of your dependents, makes them disbelievers, and fills the country with corruption that will ruin your children in this world and the hereafter? I seek refuge in Allah from the dimming of insight and from the deception of Satan. Allah, the Most High, said: "O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know."
What if Shafiq becomes president? We have agreed now, apart from the issue that the democratic system is not permissible for you to participate in elections in which there are people like Shafiq, because your participation in them means your acceptance of what the boxes bring, even if it is Shafiq. Then I return to you, who wants to vote for Shafiq, and say to you: if Shafiq becomes president, you will be a partner to him in all his crimes.
Every verse he deletes from the curricula, you are a partner to him in deleting it. Every text from the Gospel he puts in the curricula, you are a partner to him in putting it. Every polytheistic text, every Coptic girl who is handed over, soldiers of Shafiq will pursue her and hand her over to the church—as they did with Wafa Constantine and Kamilia Shihata and others, and Allah knows best what the church does to our sisters and their honor—every Muslim woman handed over to the church in the era of Shafiq, who submits to the Copts and wants to please them by any means, you will be a partner in this crime; the crime of handing over Muslim women to the church, and you will be responsible for their torture and their honor.
Every liquor store that opens, every nightclub where Allah is disobeyed, you will be a partner to Shafiq in all of this. Every book printed in the era of Shafiq that mocks Allah, His verses, and His Messenger, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture—as Husni used to do—you will be a partner in this book, in disbelief, and in the mockery it contains. Every Muslim from Gaza whose tunnels are demolished and who is buried alive until death, you will be a partner in his killing.
Why? Because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever invites to misguidance will bear the sin of those who follow him, without diminishing their sins in any way." By voting for Shafiq, you do not only invite to misguidance, but you vote for someone who applies disbelief and misguidance and imposes it with iron and fire. The sins resulting from this vote will pursue you until the Day of Judgment, and you will be tormented with them in your grave and in your hereafter, and I think also in your worldly life.
You may say: What will my vote affect? Will my vote make Shafiq win? Allah, the Most High, said: "So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it."
Do you love the Messenger of God, O one who hears my words? Do you love the Messenger of God? Imagine with me our beloved Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) among us, and there is someone who says to him: "O Muhammad, I will not apply the Sharia you brought. I will remove the verses of the Quran you brought from the children's curricula. This man, do you choose him as a leader? Or does he deserve a strike on his head with a shoe?"
In conclusion, I say to everyone who hears my words and wants to spread them: spread them completely, please. Do not shorten them or delete the part where I say that I am not in favor of all elections, so that it appears as if I support one candidate over another. No, be truthful in your transmission because I see that these elections are a farce, and I see that it is not permissible to participate in them as they are conducted under a system that does not make the rule for God Almighty. And we still have hope to see the people of Egypt strive to seek refuge under the Sharia of God Almighty and be a cause for the honor of the entire nation.
{ O you who have believed, fear Allah. And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow - and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do. And do not be like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient. Not equal are the companions of the Fire and the companions of Paradise; the companions of Paradise - it is they who are the successful. If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and splitting from fear of Allah. And We present these examples to the people that perhaps they will give thought.}
I am a supplicant, so respond with me:
O God, Possessor of great strength, O Mighty, O Great, O Lord of the worlds, we ask You to let us witness that You are God, there is no god but You, the One, the Self-Sufficient Master, who has not begotten and was not begotten, and there is none comparable to Him. We ask You to help us reform our situation so that we may deserve Your Sharia to be established among us, O Lord of the worlds. O God, help us reform our situation so that we may deserve Your Sharia to be established among us. O God, employ us in Your obedience and make us among Your supporters. O God, whoever hears this word and insists on voting for Shafiq after that, O God, then gather him with him. And my final supplication is that all praise is due to God, Lord of the worlds.
