You can remain silent and not comment on many events. Do not respond to the desire to comment and speak about every news item. Search within yourself honestly and you will see that your motives often are not Allah's pleasure and supporting the truth regardless of the cost, but rather seeking people's praise and fear of being harmed often shape your positions.. We learned from our childhood the Prophet's saying: (Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him say good or remain silent) If you cannot bear the consequences of speaking good and truth, then be silent! The religion you profess teaches you to control your tongue with great restraint. Allah says: (And when you speak, be just) He did not tell you (speak justice in every situation)..for Allah knows you are weak and may not bear the consequences of that. But if you will speak necessarily, then be just, or be silent! Speech has far more terrible effects than you think. Our Prophet said: (Will people be thrown on their faces in Hellfire except for the harvest of their tongues?!). (Do whatever you will. Indeed, He is Seeing of what you do).
