A Pause on the Texas Shooting Incident
Peace be upon you, dear audience.
Introduction
I believe you have heard about the incident in Texas, America, a few days ago, where an 18-year-old person killed his grandmother, then entered an elementary school and killed 21 people, 19 of whom were children. About ten days before that, another 18-year-old young man entered a supermarket in Buffalo, America, and killed ten people with his firearm. We need to pause and reflect on these two incidents with three quick stops.
The First Pause: The Failure of Contemporary Human Positive Law
Age of Eligibility to Own Weapons
Firstly, both of these individuals legally acquired weapons because in America, it is permitted to own weapons at the age of 18. "You have turned 18, my dear, so you are qualified to carry a weapon." Each of them, at the age of 18, possessed the weapon and committed their heinous crime. Of course, these crimes are repeated frequently in America.
According to one website, there were 216 mass shooting incidents in America from the beginning of 2022. According to another website, in the year 2020 alone, 4,522 people were killed by weapons, whether in mass shooting incidents, individual crimes, or by suicide (more than half of this number by suicide). Look here at the rigid templates and the abysmal failure of contemporary human positive law, where an arbitrary age of eligibility to own weapons is determined, just as they determine a certain age for marriage, without considering the individual qualities of each person, and whether or not eligibility is achieved in them.
Comparison with Islamic Law
Compare this with Islamic law and the saying of Allah the Almighty: a child or a girl whose father has died and left them money, their guardian in the cohesive Muslim community proceeds to test them, meaning to give them part of the money and see how they handle it. If they show maturity (intellect, balance, and righteousness in their religion), the money is given to them. This can happen at the age of ten.
Allah the Almighty said: "And do not give the foolish your property, which Allah has made for your sustenance. Provide for them and clothe them and speak to them with good speech." If this guardian (the uncle or grandfather, for example) intentionally does not give the money to the owner of the money even though he is mature, then the owner of the money can resort to the judiciary in the comprehensive Islamic system.
Failure of Rigid Templates
The point is that Islamic law does not have these stupid rigid templates, which we spoke about in the episode "A Pause with Nicholas Khoury on the Walking." Those templates that Western organizations want to impose on Muslim communities by determining a certain age for marriage, criminalizing marriage before this age, and calling it "child marriage." As we said, they impose the age of 18 on our societies, even though they do not apply it themselves, as marriage is permitted before this age in America.
Targeting Muslim Communities
However, Muslim communities are being targeted to reduce birth rates and push young men and women towards corruption by inciting lust, opening the doors of the forbidden, and closing the doors of the permissible for many years after puberty. In Islamic law, the matter is not about age but about qualification. Western societies are failing in their laws, allowing weapons to be given to those who are 18 years old, regardless of whether this person is qualified to own a weapon, whether he is just in his morals, mature, a person of faith who controls him? All these terms have no value at all in Western law, but all their work is to release freedom to practice all forms of debauchery, lewdness, psychological distortion, and going against nature, not maturity, nor balance, nor religion. This is the first point: the failure, rigidity, foolishness, and stupidity of contemporary positive law compared to the wisdom of Islamic law.
The Second Pause: The Influence of Money and Lobbying on Legislation
Support for Gun Ownership Laws
Secondly, dear audience, what supports the gun ownership laws in America? To know the answer, refer to a shocking report by the BBC titled "America's gun culture in seven charts," meaning "America's gun culture summarized in seven charts."
It influences the positions of members of the American Congress, and these expenditures are higher than what the groups advocating for gun control have spent. Therefore, the one with more money influences the media and the decisions of lawmakers, and the ones who pay the price are the general public with their blood, souls, security, and the lives of their children.
Testimony of Steve Kerr
Now, trending on social media is a statement by a basketball player and coach, the famous player Steve Kerr, an impactful statement after the recent incidents in which he says: "Does it make sense that 50 American senators control our lives in our schools, malls, and churches by insisting on not even allowing a vote on a bill (meaning to check the background of the person before allowing them to own weapons)? Does it make sense that we let these 50 put their personal interests above the interests of the entire American people, while the majority of Americans, according to polls, want stricter gun ownership laws? Until when will we remain content with standing in a moment of silence after each incident, then the killings continue?"
Comparison with Islamic Law
Compare this, my brothers, with Islamic law, which distinguishes between right and wrong, not a stupid democracy that is manipulated by the whims of people and the money of capitalist whales and political lobbies. In the Western system, there is no concept of right and wrong and building the earth with what pleases Allah and achieves the slavery for which our Lord created us.
In Islamic law, there are necessities that are preserved and no one is allowed to tamper with them, neither the majority nor the minority, nor the ruler nor the ruled, nor political lobbies: the necessity of religion, the self, the intellect, honor, and wealth, which are preserved by the legal text and organized with the most precise organization. As for the failed Western system, all of this is lost: religion, the self, the intellect, honor, and wealth.
The Call for Absolute Freedom is a Lie
The Washington Post published an article three days ago titled: "Biden says: The second amendment to the constitution (meaning the one related to gun ownership) is not absolute. Meaning, there must be specifications. The call for absolute freedom is a lie."
"Politicians pleaded for common sense gun laws after at least 19 students and 2 adults were killed." Meaning: "Politicians are calling for the enactment of weapon ownership laws that make sense, meaning acceptable and logical laws for weapon ownership after the killing of nineteen students and two adults."
Wake up, Western civilization! "Common sense" is what Islamic law has brought, which legislates what is beneficial to the nature and intellect, not what agrees with the whims of the ignorant, the biased, and the interests of lobbies.
The Third Stand: Slaves of the West and the Intervention of Organizations
A third and final stand. When we spoke in the episode "A Stand with Nicholas" about the intervention of Western organizations in what they call "child marriage" in our Muslim societies, some of the slaves of the West from our own people defended their masters. One of them even said something to the effect of: "Let those who reject the intervention of human rights organizations reject as they please, this will only make human rights organizations realize the necessity of intervention and we will enact laws to preserve the rights of women."
This means the United Nations and its offshoots and conventions like "CEDAW," these are our guardians, O Muslims, in the position of father and mother, and they know our best interests, while those scholars who speak with the Qur'an and the Sunnah, do not care about them or their followers no matter how many they are. The West will come and save our societies and the women within them. And such words come from a veiled woman!
Of course, these Westerners do not hear a sound when an incident like the one in Texas happens, because these incidents are in the lands of their masters. Rather, their mission is to shed light on the problems of our societies and exaggerate them, even to fabricate wars between men and women, then to call upon Superman, the Western organizations, to save our societies.
Western systems have failed miserably in their own countries, so where do they have the right to bring good to our countries? And what about us when we hear the saying of Allah the Most High: "Those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists would not have wished for any good to be sent down to you from your Lord." (Qur'an 2:105)
We ask Allah to protect us from the evil of the hypocrites and the evil of their masters, and to bless the Muslims and humanity with days in which sovereignty belongs to Islam and its rulings. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
