A Word on the Occasion of Reaching 2 Million Followers on Facebook and 500,000 Subscribers on YouTube
A Message on Reaching 2 Million Facebook Followers and 500,000 YouTube Subscribers
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear esteemed audience, this message is on the occasion of reaching 2 million followers on the official Facebook page and 500,000 subscribers on the YouTube channel.
First: Thanking Allah the Almighty
Firstly, I thank Allah the Almighty who granted success, aided, and spread these words. May Allah love us, His words, His religion, and His Prophet, peace be upon him, so we may call to Him. We faced obstacles, but Allah turned them in favor of this call. "No one can withhold the mercy that Allah opens to the people." O Lord, to You belongs the praise as befits Your glorious face and great sovereignty.
Second: Welcoming the Followers
Secondly, I welcome all of you who follow the humble servant. Know that I consider you my large family, of which I am honored. You are my brothers and sisters and my supporters, "Indeed, the believers are but brothers," and you are my allies, "The believers, men and women, are allies of one another."
Third: Thanking Those Who Do Not Thank People, Do Not Thank Allah
Thirdly, dear esteemed audience, those who do not thank people do not thank Allah, as our Prophet, peace be upon him, taught us. I thank my brothers who helped me without wanting their names to be shown, for they are sincere and hidden, as I believe, and Allah is their reckoner. By Allah, I see the kindness of Allah in providing me with these brothers who support me technically and scientifically, and I cannot do without their continuous advice and support.
Therefore, dear esteemed audience, do not think that this effort is the effort of Yiad alone. By Allah, if Allah had not blessed me with these brothers, you would not have seen the lectures and articles at this level. A man is little by himself but great with his brothers, and "Cooperate in righteousness and piety." This is not humility at all, but so that Allah may preserve the blessing of the knowledge we spread and increase us from His favor. Whoever benefits from something we spread and wants to pray for the humble servant, let him say: Yiad and those with him.
But you, dear esteemed audience, you have a favor over me by Allah, with your continuous moral support, by sharing this material, and by praying for me in secret. By Allah, I see blessing and preservation, and I believe that your prayers have a great share in that.
Fourth: Numbers Are Not the Measure
Fourthly, dear esteemed audience, it is very important to remember that numbers are not the measure of a person's merit. Two million followers do not mean that the value of so-and-so is two million points, and I who have a thousand followers am worth a thousand points. It is dangerous, dear esteemed audience, to evaluate ourselves through platforms that are not in our hands.
We, as Muslims, it is possible that someone with millions of followers speaks a word of truth contrary to the standards of the owners of Facebook and YouTube platforms and others, and their standards are invalid, so they do not like the truth he said and delete his account. Look at the disaster if our view of ourselves as Muslims is dependent on numbers that are not in our hands, as if we evaluate ourselves with the glasses of others. It is a complex problem: first, that the numbers become the measure, and second, that the standards that threaten to reduce these numbers are invalid in the first place, not from Islam nor in the hands of Muslims.
See, my brothers, fame is a trial, a trial because you walk among people who point at you with their fingers: this one has so many thousand, this one has so many million followers, and they treat you with admiration based on this. If the servant does not monitor himself and make the pleasure of Allah his only compass, then the matter turns into slavery to these numbers. And the one who is at the top becomes a slave to the followers. But the disaster is when the number becomes the guide and the compass.
Fame and many followers do not mean that I am better than others whose followers are fewer. Rather, it is a responsibility, and our Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The most numerous are the least on the Day of Judgment," he said it about wealth because it is a responsibility, and so is fame and many followers a responsibility. Whoever does not fulfill his duty towards it will be the least on the Day of Judgment, the least share of Allah's mercy, and the least chance of salvation, seeking refuge in Allah.
It is not necessary that the multitude indicates Allah's love for the servant, nor that Allah the Almighty has placed acceptance for him on earth because He loves him, but rather it is so if it is accompanied by righteous deeds, following the Sunnah, and good intentions. And life does not guarantee immunity from trials, so we ask Allah to end us and you with good.
O dear esteemed audience, by Allah, I see that among the owners of the obscure accounts or those who do not care about social media at all, there are those who are better than the humble servant who speaks. And we do not want to evaluate each other with numbers that are not in our hands in the first place. As I affirm and repeat: it is dangerous, dear beloved, that good deeds in our view turn into numbers. One of us publishes a post and then looks at the number of interactions: share, like, comment, and the morale rises and falls with these numbers.
By Allah, at that time, it is slavery and humiliation to people instead of the Lord of the people who revealed the virtues and concealed the faults. So work for His pleasure until the day He meets you and raises you with it degrees you could not imagine. Perhaps at the time you are writing a post and it becomes the talk of millions, perhaps one is sitting at his mother's feet, dipping her in water, entertaining her, or going to fulfill her needs, and he did not get a share, a like, or a comment on this action, and yet his work with Allah is much greater than the owner of the post or the famous video. Therefore, dear esteemed audience, our value is not with these numbers, and the pride of servitude and sincerity to Allah protects you from the humiliation of servitude to the masses, social media platforms, likes, shares, and comments.
Fifth: Apologizing for the Inability to Respond to All Comments
Fifthly, I ask, dear esteemed audience, to excuse me for not being able to respond to all the comments, for by Allah, the preoccupations are many. And by Allah, it is not that I mean to refrain from responding to the questions, and I am very upset when questions come to me that I cannot respond to. The preoccupations are many, and as you notice, I have been delayed in the series we started. But I mean, I read some of the comments, some of the brothers tell me: pay attention to this comment, try to respond to it. So you see that I sometimes say: some brothers asked and the answer is such and such. But forgive me by Allah upon you because by Allah, people, time is tight.
And regarding the series and the delay in the series, I give you good news that, by the permission of Allah the Almighty, the coming one, if Allah wills, will be better than the previous one. We have the last episode in the series of the distinguished and important woman, by the permission of Allah the Almighty, then after that we will resume the journey of certainty and start with an episode of the most important episodes, by the permission of Allah the Almighty. But your brother asks you to pray for blessing in time and acceptance. And once again I say: May Allah keep you and reward you with good on my behalf, and reward my brothers who support me with good on my behalf, and I ask Allah to gather us in the shade of His throne on a day when there is no shade but His. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
