Do supporters of democracy not contemplate the Quran - In response to justifying democracy slogans as obtaining international support
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, dear brothers.
Rejecting Democratic Slogans and Some Excuses
When we reject raising democratic slogans in protests, some people respond by saying that the intention behind these slogans is to address the international system, not the Muslims inside. We say to those who make this excuse: When you send messages to the outside world with democratic slogans, what is the meaning of these messages?
We want you to know, O politicians of the international system, that you hate the Sharia, so we reassure you that we do not want an Islamic state, but we will obey you in adhering to the democracy that you have imposed on us. So, help us in return and support us against the military council.
A Precise Quranic Description of the Excuse
In reality, there is a precise Quranic description of your excuse. If Allah had guided you to contemplate the Quran, you would have known that this excuse condemns its owner and does not excuse him. Allah the Almighty says: {Indeed, those who have turned back on their heels after the guidance has become clear to them - Satan has enticed them and lured them. That is because they said to those who hate what Allah has sent down, "We will obey you in some matters." But Allah knows their secrets.} [ Muhammad: 25-26].
If Allah described those who said to the disbelievers who hate what Allah has sent down, "We will obey you in some matters," as having turned back on their heels, then what about those who say to them, "We will obey you in democracy" as a method of governance and legislation, i.e., we will obey you in all matters? Even the promise of obedience is a condemnation as in the verse, so what about them while they are actually adhering to their promise to the disbelievers by adopting democracy?
The Problem of These People: Clarity of Guidance and the Whispering of Satan
Allah the Almighty has explained the problem of these people: the guidance has become clear to them, but Satan, who appears in the form of wise intellectual efforts that suit the stage, has whispered to them, i.e., has whispered to them to agree with the people of shirk and kufr in some matters. They say: Democracy is a requirement of the stage, and after the crisis passes, we will return to pure Islam again.
So, this is the essence of their defense by saying, "We want democracy to send messages to the outside world," i.e., we want to say to the international system that hates what Allah has sent down: "Do not worry, we are not seeking to rule by the Quran that you hate, but we will obey you in all matters." An excuse uglier than the sin, and a charge that you prove against yourselves, may Allah guide you while you do not feel.
Why Did You Not Notice? The Absence of Contemplating the Quran
Do you know why you did not notice that the Quran is speaking about you? The reason is mentioned in the verse directly before these verses, His saying: {Will they not contemplate the Quran? Or are there locks on the hearts?} [Muhammad: 24]. Glory be to Allah! They have accustomed themselves that if they hear Allah says and His Messenger says, they respond to these verses and hadiths with philosophies and desires that they see as wisdom and rationality, so Allah has deprived them of the blessing of contemplating the Quran.
Will they not contemplate the Quran, or are there locks on the hearts? In your difficult circumstances, you send messages to those who hate what Allah has sent down, to those who hate the Sharia, asking them to help you, and you seek them with the wrath of Allah, while they are the ones who conspired against you and burned your papers. Instead of turning to Allah the Almighty who says: {Say, "O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You remove sovereignty from whom You will; You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will; in Your hand is the good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.} [Al-Imran: 26].
Allah who gives sovereignty and Allah who takes away sovereignty. {Those who take disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek with them honor? But honor belongs to Allah entirely.} [An-Nisa: 139]. Have you contemplated this verse, or are there locks on the hearts?
The Flaw is in the Lack of Sincerity, Not in the Sharia
You thought that the slogan of the Sharia is no longer suitable for mobilization, although the flaw is not in it nor in the nature of people, but in your lack of sincerity in raising it. Instead, you raised the garbage of democracy to gather the flies on it because you are psychologically defeated, psychologically defeated in front of those who hate the Sharia and love democracy, so you do not see anyone but them and want to increase your numbers with them.
{Say, "The evil and the good are not equal, even if the abundance of evil pleases you."} [Al-Ma'idah: 100]. Have you contemplated this verse, or are there locks on the hearts?
Relying on the Oppressors and the Weakness of Their Houses
You relied on those who oppressed you, and they turned against you. {The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like the example of the spider who takes a house, and indeed, the weakest of houses is the house of the spider, if they only knew.} [Al-'Ankabut: 41]. Have you contemplated this verse, or are there locks on the hearts?
Allah Knows Your Enemies
Allah knows the truth about your enemies whom you want to send messages to, and He informed you that they buy deviation and want you to be misguided. Allah the Almighty said after that: {And Allah is most knowing of your enemies.} [An-Nisa: 45]. He knows your enemies better than you, He knows that: {Never will the Jews or the Christians be pleased with you until you follow their religion.} [Al-Baqarah: 120]. No matter what messages you send to them.
Allah knows that your enemies {would love that you should be afflicted with great affliction.} [Al-Imran: 118], i.e., they are pleased that you fall into hardship, they are pleased that you fall into hardship, and their command over Syria and its people is not hidden from you. {And Allah is most knowing of your enemies. And sufficient is Allah as a Protector, and sufficient is Allah as a Helper.} [An-Nisa: 45]. Have you contemplated this verse? Have you contemplated all these verses, or are there locks on the hearts?
The West and Its Interests
The West to which you send messages, if it returns you to the seat of rule, will it return you to rule by what Allah has sent down in the long run as you claim, and free the country and the people from the slavery of the West, or to implement its policies whether you feel it or not?
Today, the British newspaper The Guardian published an analysis stating: "Excluding the Brotherhood means the rise of radical Islamists who do not believe in democracy or elections, and this is a great danger to us." Will the international system defend you for the sake of Allah the Almighty? And Allah the Almighty said: {And they will continue to fight you until they turn you away from your religion if they are able.} [Al-Baqarah: 217]. Have you contemplated this verse, or are there locks on the hearts?
A Call to Contemplate and Flee to Allah
Therefore, we say to the defenders of deviation: Do not prove the charge against yourselves from the Book of Allah, and do not make excuses, may Allah guide you. Do not make excuses that are uglier than the sin. This is your opportunity, this is your opportunity, may Allah guide you in the month of Ramadan, to contemplate the Quran and judge yourselves by it and accept it without previous assumptions, without partisan traditions whose slogan is: {Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and indeed, we are, upon their traces, guided.} [Al-Zukhruf: 22].
Turn to the Quran to reform your psyches and minds with the light of the Book of Allah the Almighty. {So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.} [Adh-Dhariyat: 50-51]. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
