Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings, dear brothers.
A few days ago, the newspaper "The Telegraph" published an article claiming that the mujahideen in Mali are collaborating with drug traffickers in North Africa to fund their operations. Then, Arab media outlets circulated this article as confirmed news without providing any evidence to support its claims.
Instead of believing or denying the article, we would like to review the complete story of the global media with another region of the world, which is Afghanistan, to see whether the media respects the intelligence of the people or not. We will take our information from official global organizations to see the extent of agreement or contradiction in them.
The official website of the United Nations - the Drug and Crime Section (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) - in its 2001 report on drug cultivation in Afghanistan, stated that the Afghan Taliban movement succeeded almost completely in eradicating drug cultivation in the areas under its control in less than a year.
This happened after Mullah Muhammad Omar and the Taliban scholars issued a decision to prohibit drug cultivation and eradicate it in the year 2000, knowing that it was a main source of income for this country, which is classified as one of the ten poorest countries in the world. Therefore, you will find in "Wikipedia" a description of this campaign as one of the most successful campaigns in the world to eradicate drugs, and in fact, it was the most successful ever.
The anti-drug section publishes annual maps of the density of cultivation, so the map of Afghanistan for the year 2001 appears to be free of drug cultivation, except for the areas under the control of the "Northern Alliance" which was opposed to the Taliban and enjoyed the support of many countries that wanted to weaken this Islamic movement.
After the Taliban eradicated drug cultivation directly, the events of September 11 occurred, and the Atlantic invaded Afghanistan. I was studying in the United States at that time, and I remember that in the first hour of the invasion, the official spokesman for the Pentagon appeared on television screens to talk about their operations against the Taliban, saying: "It is known that the Taliban depend on drugs for their financing, so we have bombed drug stores."
This is how the media deals with human minds; the Taliban, who eradicated drug cultivation, became, in the media, dependent on its trade! The same newspapers that expressed amazement a few months earlier at the success of the Taliban in eradicating drugs (such as "The New York Times") contributed to spreading this lie after the war. Even foreign websites like "Foreign Policy" criticized the disinformation of "The New York Times" and published an article titled: "The New York Times Practices Disinformation Regarding the Role of the Taliban in Drug Cultivation."
As soon as the Atlantic Alliance and its allies from the Northern Alliance took control of Afghanistan, the drug trade flourished again under the watchful eye and patronage of the Atlantic. In 2003, the "BBC" published a report titled: "Afghanistan Regains the Drug Crown," stating that in 2002 (i.e., after the withdrawal of the Taliban), Afghanistan once again became the world leader in drug production after the forces led by the United States overthrew the Taliban system that banned its cultivation.
The United Nations maps show the change in drug cultivation from 2002 to 2009, where it became more than it was before the Taliban's control. In 2007, 92% of the world's drugs were produced in Afghanistan.
The issue is not a failure but rather a political will for the revival of this cultivation, which benefits the corrupt regime. Additionally, the destruction and sedation of the peoples of so-called "Third World" countries is a demand in itself.
This is evident in the study ordered by former US President Richard Nixon, titled "Population and the American Future," which remained secret until it was released by a group of lawyers at the end of the last century. The study considers the increase in population density in the Islamic world dangerous because it makes these peoples compete with America for resources. Moreover, this density provides the "terrorist" groups - according to their expression - with human momentum. Therefore, distracting, sedating, and preventing the proliferation of these peoples is a demand of Western politicians.
After all this, we are not surprised when we see that before the campaign on Mali, the media circulated news about the prohibition by "Ansar al-Din Group" of drug and cigarette trafficking. Then, after a few weeks, they accused them and other jihadist groups of colluding in trafficking!
The American writer "Noam Chomsky" says in his article about the ten means that the media uses to control the people: "The bigger the lie and the more brazen and shameless it is, the harder it is to respond to; because it silences the tongue of those who know the truth and puts them in a state of astonishment at the media's lies and the naivety of those who believe them."
The administration of "Facebook" practiced this disinformation by closing my personal and alternative pages after I published an interview with the official spokesman of "Ansar al-Din" in Mali. The simple reason is that global media and communication want to be the sole narrators of events and prevent people from knowing the truth that exposes their ugliness.
Brothers, it is not permissible religiously, nor is it honorable or rational, to believe what the media says against our brothers in any place. This media, which the Jews own many of its institutions; if these people have slandered the prophets of Allah, peace be upon them, in their books, do you expect them to be neutral and truthful with those who expose their falsehood?
Our duty towards what we hear is what Allah the Almighty has commanded us, saying: "Why is it that when you heard it, the believing men and believing women did not think good of themselves and say, 'This is an evident lie'?"
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
