Wretched is the one who thinks his heart is in his hands.. Wretched is the one who thinks he can dive today, then return clean whenever he wishes! It is not true that every mistake is fully repairable.. Follow along to learn why.
To those among you who visit pornographic sites, I urge you not to let the thought take root in your hearts that this matter is trivial. You may say, "Perhaps I can continue in this sin and repent one day, like that young man did, and then live a good life afterward." No, by God, you cannot guarantee that!
This way of thinking involves underestimating sin, which may deprive you of divine guidance. You say, "I will dive into the mire now and wash myself clean whenever I wish." But who told you that your heart will remain alive until you are granted the will to leave? Do you think your heart is in your hands? Consider the words of Allah the Exalted:
"O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart, and that to Him you will be gathered." (Quran 8:24)
Know that Allah intervenes between a person and their heart—you are not in control of your heart to the extent that you can guarantee its guidance whenever you wish. Allah may withhold the resolve for obedience from you because you delayed responding to His command after hearing admonitions and lessons. Do not be deceived by Allah’s patience toward you.
To be honest, I am truly astonished and deeply pained. How can a Muslim who bears witness to the oneness of Allah and the messengership of His Messenger, peace be upon him, look upon such obscenity? How can he use the blessing of sight, which Allah created, for what displeases Him and not feel shame before Allah?
This heart that Allah has given you to know Him, to love Him—how can you bury it in filth? How can you see the suffering of your Ummah and not offer even repentance from such a heinous sin?
The young man whose story we mentioned was saved by Allah, and his life underwent a great transformation. Yet there are others who repented but still pay a bitter price: failure in their married lives, unforgettable bitterness, and images stored in their memory that cannot be erased.
You may say, "But Allah is Forgiving and Merciful—He will accept me if I repent." Yes, but even if Allah grants you true repentance that removes the punishment of the Hereafter, it does not mean you will escape the worldly consequences of the sin. Adam, upon him be peace, repented from eating from the tree, and Allah accepted his repentance, yet he still paid a heavy price by being sent down from Paradise.
Therefore, do not delay. Return now before the price becomes heavier. Return now—not tomorrow, not after Ramadan, not after marriage. Raise your hands now and say, "O my Lord, just as You saved this Your servant, save me. O my Lord, do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye."
Then take the necessary means: delete what must be deleted, and be patient with the pain of the beginning, for whoever perseveres, Allah will grant them patience.
O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, O You Who guided this brother by Your grace and mercy—guide every servant who hears us now. O Allah, take him by the hand to You and do not entrust him to himself even for the blink of an eye. O Allah, enliven our hearts, purify our sight, preserve our natural disposition, and let us taste the sweetness of Your nearness and intimacy with You until we meet You while You are pleased with us.
And our final supplication is that all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds. Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings.
