No to Compromising Security and Safety
Introduction: Security and Safety are a Red Line
Peace be upon you. Security and safety in the lands of Muslims are a red line, and we must not allow anyone to tamper with them under any pretext. Let's see how we can protect our countries and achieve security from the words of our Lord, the most truthful of speakers and the most just of rulers.
Allah the Almighty said: {Those who believe and do not mix their faith with injustice, they are the ones who are secure, and they are the guided ones}. And injustice here is shirk, as our Prophet peace be upon him defined it. And one of its clearest forms is the shirk of obedience: obeying someone in disobeying Allah, as if your benefit and harm, provision, and life are in his hands. But absolute obedience is only to Allah the Almighty, and there is no obedience to a creature in disobeying the Creator.
True Security: Obedience to Allah and Supporting the Believers
If we want security, we must obey Allah the Almighty absolutely. What does Allah command us? He the Almighty said: {The believers, men and women, are protecting friends of one another}. He commands us to befriend the believers, and befriending means supporting, loving, and aiding. If a believer is attacked, it is the duty of the believers to rescue, aid, and support him.
Alright, what if we do not do this thing? He the Almighty said: {And if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help}. This is about people who were limited and did not migrate when migration was obligatory, yet it is still obligatory to support them in religion.
Consequences of Negligence: Fitnah and Great Corruption
And He the Almighty said: {And those who disbelieve are protectors of one another. If you do not do this, there will be fitnah in the land and great corruption}. And great corruption means you see the disbelievers befriending each other, so you, O believers, must befriend each other. And if you do not, the inevitable result is fitnah and great corruption.
From this comes the loss of your countries, security, and safety. Sanctuaries are violated, lives are taken, and honor is breached. And all of this is the recompense for your neglect of the duty to support your brothers.
Allah the Almighty said: {O you who believe, what is the matter with you that when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you cling heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world over the Hereafter? But the comfort of the life of this world in the Hereafter is little. If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment and will replace you with another people, and you will not harm Him at all. And Allah is over all things competent}. Until He the Almighty said: {Go forth, whether light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah. That is better for you, if you only knew}.
The one who threatens in these verses is not America nor the European Union, not creatures that eat and cover themselves with dust. The one who threatens us is the Lord of Might, the Exalted, who says, provoking us to support the oppressed: {And what is the matter with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and the oppressed?}
Any society that wants security must necessarily support its brothers, otherwise we will say: The white bull was eaten on the day it was eaten. The forces of disbelief have dropped all masks, violated all prohibitions, cast aside all covenants, and declared their open enmity without hesitation.
If you test our endurance in Palestine, you bomb our mosques, destroy our hospitals, burn our children, and tear our elders to pieces, and then see us not supporting them, what can prevent you from violating the lands of the Muslims piece by piece?
The spears, if they gather, break together, and if they are separated, they break one by one.
No Tampering with Artificial Borders
Our Prophet peace be upon him said: "The blood of the Muslims is equal, and they are a hand against others." Their blood is equal; there is no blood more precious than another, so borders are worthless. {And indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am your Lord, so fear Me}.
The blood of the Muslims is equal, and they are one hand against others. Our Prophet peace be upon him said to the Ansar: "Blood for blood and destruction for destruction." Meaning, if your blood is sought, then my blood is sought, and if your blood is spilled, then my blood is spilled, due to the strength of affection and brotherhood between us. Then he said: "I am from you and you are from me. I fight those you fight and make peace with those you make peace with."
This is the relationship between the believers: our blood is their blood, our destruction is their destruction, they are from us and we are from them. The borders that the occupier drew between us on the map are worthless, and giving them value is a denial of Allah and His Messenger. And these borders must be erased from our minds and uprooted from our hearts. This is the precious security that noble souls dream of, security for us as Muslims as one bloc, even if we suffer for it, we will be happy and reassured; because we feel the support, honor, and assistance.
Imagine if an enemy occupied a part of your country, the northern or southern or eastern or western part of your country, and it is our right to defend ourselves. Therefore, they occupied this part and began to oppress its people in their usual manner, and said: You, the rest of the people of this country, have nothing to do with this. There is a barrier set up in such and such area, from under which you are safe, and these are the new borders of your country, and from these borders and above, we will do our business.
Imagine if you look at your brothers who were previously the people of your country, and now you watch them being killed, their mosques being demolished, their hospitals being bombed, and you watch from the screens and lament. Just as normalization with the borders between Muslim countries has occurred, this normalization with the borders within a single country will be accepted. If you give value to the borders that the occupier sets and disobey Allah who did not give them any value, then everything is possible.
Imagine if someone said at that time: We will not sacrifice the security of our country for this part that is no longer ours. Would that be considered wisdom, foresight, and reason? It is necessary, O brothers, that it be clear to us as Muslims in all regions that when we support our brothers in Palestine, it is not because they are another friendly people, but because they are from us and within us, just like my fellow countryman is from me and exactly like me.
You are living in one house with your brothers, do you perhaps differentiate between your brother in the room next to you and your brother in the room after that? If an enemy comes and attacks the farther brother and you remain silent, what will motivate you if he attacks your brother in the adjacent room exactly? Recall this example as you read the words of Allah the Almighty: {The believers are but brothers}. The word "only" is a restrictive particle, meaning they are nothing but brothers.
Evil Suspicion of Allah and Its Consequences
If a Muslim thinks that his country will not be exposed to aggression due to appeasement and obedience to other than Allah the Almighty, this is evil suspicion of Allah. Allah destroys His obedient servants, so it is evil suspicion that you are safe because you disobey Him and do not support your brothers. This is evil suspicion of Allah, and it is a greater crime than the disobedience itself.
And remember at that time the saying of Allah the Almighty: {Those before them devised, so Allah came at their building from the foundations, and the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive}. A great and terrifying verse. Imagine people fortified in a fortress, safe from the attack of their enemy as long as they are in this fortress. So Allah the Exalted and Majestic moved the foundations of this building, the building they thought would protect them, the pillars crumbled, the walls crumbled, the roof collapsed upon them, and it collapsed rapidly, and the punishment came to them from where they did not feel.
So he who thinks that security and safety are achieved by disobeying Allah, this is evil suspicion of Allah. Security is by obeying Allah and supporting the Muslims among themselves. And whoever does not do so while being able, let him wait for the supplications of the oppressed and persecuted to be answered: "O Allah, support those who support us, O Allah, support those who support us and forsake those who forsake us." So when his turn comes, he will be forsaken and will not find anyone to support him.
A Call for Unity and Rejection of Division
The title of this phase, dear brothers, should be the saying of our Prophet, peace be upon him: "Know Allah in times of ease, and He will know you in times of hardship." The first thing you should know about Allah in this time is to support your brothers. Any call that divides Muslims is a wicked call with no place among them.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "Allah has removed from you the arrogance of the days of ignorance and boasting about ancestors, whether a pious believer or a wicked sinner." This is the division: believer and sinner. There is no believer of a certain nationality as first class or another as second class to be divided among them in loyalty and support.
Then he, peace be upon him, said: "You are the children of Adam, and Adam is from clay. Let men abandon their pride in their people, for they are but coals from the coals of Hell, or be more despicable to Allah than the beetles that push filth with their noses." This means that whoever takes a criterion for distinction at the expense of faith, he is more despicable than the beetles that push filth with their noses.
Therefore, the lands of the Muslims are one, their security is a red line, their safety is a red line, and there is no security nor safety except by obeying Allah and His gift of mutual loyalty and mutual support. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
