Quiz Clarification for Everything - Session 14
Parts 17 and 18
Parts 17 and 18
Peace be upon you and the mercy of God. Brothers, the first broadcast was only shown on Facebook, and now, God willing, it will be shown on both Facebook and YouTube together. We are not pleased that the YouTube group was absent from the competition.
We presented the first question, which was: "A verse in which there is mockery of those who think that victory will not be for this religion." Sister Meryem Lababidi answered, and the answer is the saying of God the Most High: "Whoever thinks that Allah will not support him in this world and the hereafter, let him extend a rope to the sky, then let him cut it, and see if his plot will remove what angers him."
Ibn Abbas said in its interpretation: "Whoever thinks that Allah will not support Muhammad in this world and the hereafter, let him extend a rope to the sky of his house, for whatever is above you will shade you, then let him cut it, meaning let him strangle himself with it." Ibn Kathir said: "The meaning is: whoever thinks that Allah is not a supporter of Muhammad (peace be upon him), his book, and his religion, let him go and kill himself if that is what angers him, for Allah will surely support him."
The second question: "What is in the hearts of the people of disbelief in terms of anger towards the religion shows on their features. Mention a verse that indicates this meaning." This is something that is seen and known.
Brother Duaa Ahmed from Facebook answered, and the answer is the saying of God the Most High: "And when Our clear verses are recited to them, you recognize the disapproval in the faces of those who disbelieve. They almost pounce on those who recite Our verses to them. Say, 'Shall I inform you of something worse than that? The Fire, which Allah has promised those who disbelieve. And wretched is the destination."
The third question: "The hijab is not just an external appearance, but the woman should also control her behavior to preserve the purity of men's hearts and their chastity from lustful attachment. Mention a verse (or part of a verse) that indicates this meaning."
Sister Lababa Al-Faqih from YouTube and Sister Zainab answered. The answer is the saying of God the Most High: "...and let them not stamp their feet so that what they conceal of their adornments is known." The hijab covers the body, but behavior is also important. A woman may be covered but intentionally stamp her feet with jewelry to stir something in the hearts of men, which contradicts what Allah has commanded and causes a lustful attachment that increases heedlessness. The broad rule is: "But man is a clear witness against himself. And even if he offers excuses."
We mentioned that Allah directed to reflect on the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. Mention a verse that blames the neglect of reflection on the signs of heaven in particular.
Brother Omar Ismail and Brother Abdullah Shalloun answered, and the answer is the saying of God the Most High: "And We have made the heaven a protected ceiling, but they, concerning its signs, are turning away."
We are required to contemplate the signs of heaven, astronomy, and stars. And according to the admission of Western men in the field of astronomy, many of the known stars were named by Muslims.
"Whoever departs from pure monotheism to polytheism, he will fall and scatter among beliefs that have no resolution. Mention a verse that indicates this meaning."
Sister Huda Lababidi and Sister Maria Lababidi answered, and the answer is the saying of God the Most High: "Devoted to Allah, not associating anything with Him. And whoever associates with Allah, it is as if he fell from the sky, and the birds snatch him, or the wind casts him into a ruinous place."
Al-Zamakhshari said in "Al-Kashshaf": It is permissible that this simile is compound or separate. He likened faith in its sublimity to the sky, and whoever associates with Allah, he likened him to the one who falls from the sky, and the whims that scatter his thoughts to the snatching bird, and the wind that casts him into the abysses of destruction.
A beautiful question about the saying of God the Most High: "It is they who are hastening to good deeds and are preceding them." It is customary to say "hasten to good," but "they hasten to good deeds" conveys their immersion and absorption in the acts of goodness.
A verse in which Allah draws attention to His ability to bring some people upon others and the shrinking of kingdoms, and some people strive to make it a scientific miracle. What is this verse?
Brother Omar Ismail and Brother Shalloun answered, and the answer is the saying of God the Most High: "Do they not see that We come to the earth and reduce it from its edges? Then are they the victors?"
Imam Al-Tabari said in its interpretation: "The most correct saying is that of those who said: We come to the earth and reduce it by the appearance of Muslims upon it." That is, the earth around the disbelievers shrinks and submits to the sovereignty of Allah and His law through conquests. As for the attempt to relate it to the fact that the earth is oval in shape and its diameter is not even, this is an excessive effort that God's book, Glorified and Exalted be He, is free from.
It may occur to some that God's punishment of a nation in this world may suffice them and save them from the punishment of the Hereafter. Mention a verse from the part of the day from which some interpreters derived a general rule in negating this assumption.
The owner of the account "Rabi Allah" from YouTube answered, and the answer is the saying of God the Most High: "And it is forbidden for a town which We have destroyed that they will not return."
The interpreters have different opinions about this verse, one of which is that the meaning is: It is completely forbidden for a town whose people We have destroyed due to their corruption and disbelief that they "will not return to us in the Hereafter for reckoning." The verse confirms what came before it that those who have decided their affair between them {to Us they will return}, they will inevitably return for the most complete reckoning.
Mention two different words for the same story, one who reads them may not understand the reason for the variation, but one who reads the context knows that mentioning each word in its place shows how the reward is of the same kind as the deed. The two words describe the disbelievers in one story, one in the part of the day and the other in another part.
Sister Mayada Zeidan and Sister Manar Najib answered, and the two words are: {the losers} and {the lowest}.
Al-Isfara'ini said in "Durrat Al-Tanzil": In the story of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in Surah Al-Anbiya, Allah the Most High said: {And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the losers}, and in Surah Al-Saffat: {So they intended for him a plan, but We made them the lowest}.
The wisdom in that:
Due to the interruption of the broadcast, we will stop at this point. Regarding tomorrow's episode, I will publish an episode titled "The Woman," which helps us, men and women, to understand ourselves and arrange our priorities with the permission of Allah the Most High. Peace be upon you.
