The Impossibility of the Islamic Project Being Undertaken by a Single Faction
Dear beloved, we must acknowledge that no single jihadi faction can undertake the Islamic project in Syria and confront the forces of disbelief and hypocrisy alone. Neither Jabhat al-Nusra alone, nor the Syrian Islamic Front alone, nor the brigades signed on the Pact of Liberation Party alone, nor the pure brigades in the Free Syrian Army alone can do this.
If this reality is settled in the minds of the supporters of the factions, they will not use the language of possession in their discourse, nor will they claim that there is no choice for other factions but to rally under the banner of the faction they support. Rather, they will work at that time to unite the word, reconcile hearts, and engage in calm, constructive dialogue as long as the goal is a shared, legitimate one. They will strive to reach the greatest degree of agreement and eliminate errors through sincerity and humility in the pursuit of truth wherever it may be.
Prioritization and the Art of Loyalty and Disavowal
It is time, my brothers, that we prioritize our priorities correctly and master the art of loyalty and disavowal; that we win over those who can be won, and neutralize those who can be neutralized. The legacy of previous jihadi experiences, with their rights and wrongs, and our mandate to justify or defend them, is not something that is ever appropriate at this time.
This is not the time to exclude a faction because of its stance on the hadith of the individual or some of its fatwas, even if we disagree with it. At such a time, it is necessary to support every Muslim to the extent that they submit to Allah and strive to establish the law of the Most Merciful, may He be exalted.
Levels of Engagement with Factions and Brigades
We support those whose great purpose is sound and whose means are sound. We advise those whose purpose is sound but whose means are flawed. We cooperate with those who share our short-term goal of defending Muslims, even if they have not yet declared their project for after this stage.
We also leave a thread of connection with those whose feet have slipped into international projects but who are still fighting alongside the mujahideen, hoping that the good in their hearts will bring them back in the coming days as the ranks become more distinct.
