Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.

Introduction and Clarification of the Primary Intent

Yesterday, esteemed guests, I published a statement on the occasion of the death or assassination of Dr. Mohamed Morsi. Then I went to prepare and deliver a lecture. When I came out of the lecture, I saw many comments, such as, "Why is this cold condolence for the legitimate president who represented the truth?" And some say, "Do you think it is not permissible to show mercy to Dr. Mohamed Mohamed Morsi?" Some of the comments were provocative, to the extent that I preferred to postpone talking about the topic and not speak under the influence of this charged atmosphere, out of a desire to please anyone or fear of provoking them.

And I say now: The purpose of my post, esteemed guests, was to set aside any disagreements and gather as Muslims to focus on the tragedy of the oppressed in general in the prisons of the oppressors. But since the opposite has happened, and the post and its misunderstanding have become a reason for discord, I will mention my complete position and mention the controversial matters, because that is more likely now to extinguish the fitna.

My Position on Showing Mercy to Dr. Morsi

Do I find any religious obstacle to showing mercy to Dr. Mohamed Morsi? Do I declare him an infidel as some have claimed? The answer: No. And the first thing I received the news, I showed mercy to him. That was on Monday during the live broadcast of the competition "Explaining Everything." You can verify the news? "Our Lord, is the news true?" The news is definitely true. "Is the news true?" Definitely 100%. "The death of Mohamed Morsi during the trial?" He fainted and then died. "Is it true?" Yes. He was demanding the judge to continue, but he was refused, so he fainted after he died. Allah is the one we seek help from. We ask Allah for mercy and forgiveness for him.

Of course, my brothers, those who have been following me since 2012 after coming out of political isolation to prison. But even in such situations, we do not say, "We ask Allah for mercy and forgiveness for him and for all Muslims, and we ask Allah for their safety from the prisons of the criminal oppressors."

Prayer for the Oppressed in General

And we ask Allah the Almighty to heal our hearts from those who oppress people in this way. O Allah, we disassociate ourselves to You from the oppression of every Muslim, and we ask Allah the Almighty to make what the Muslims face in all directions, with all their ideas, with all their parties in the prisons of the oppressors, to make it an expiation for their sins, an elevation of their ranks, so that they may meet Allah the Almighty free from any sin. Sufficient for us is Allah, and how excellent is the trustee.

O Allah, take revenge on the oppressors of the Muslims, and have mercy on those of our Muslim brothers who have died, whoever they may be, as long as they unite You and bear witness to Your oneness and to Your Prophet with the message, and make what they have faced and will face an expiation for their sins, O Lord of the worlds.

Timing of Mentioning Reservations and Disagreements

But Dr. Iyad, is this the right time to mention reservations, disagreements, and mistakes with an oppressed man who was killed or died in this way? I answer you: No, it is not the right time. Now is the time for Muslims to unite against injustice. Therefore, in the post the next day, I did not speak about Dr. Morsi as a person, nor about my reservations about him or his methodology of change. Upon receiving the news, I mourned him, may Allah have mercy on him, and mentioned my reservations. And the next day in the written statement, I shifted the focus away from Dr. Morsi as a person and from the mistakes and focused on the bigger and more important issue.

Well, some misunderstood and brought us back to the box of Dr. Morsi. So let me clarify again. I say: May Allah have mercy on Dr. Mohamed Morsi, and I disassociate myself to Allah from the mistake of his methodology, which I discussed in detail in a legal discussion, and from some of his positions that are not appropriate to mention at this time. I visited them and offered my condolences, may Allah relieve them and all our brothers.

I show mercy to Dr. Morsi as a Muslim who died oppressed, for his oppression is their problem with Islam itself, not with a party or a group.

Clarification of the Position on Legitimacy and Democracy

However, at the same time, I warn that with the wave of sympathy for Dr. Morsi, terms such as "the legitimate president" who defends "legitimacy" have resurfaced. Am I in agreement with these terms? Of course not, and I do not want it to be understood that I support these terms. And I have clarified in detail that I do not recognize the derivation of legitimacy through ballot boxes, so that if the people choose a Muslim or a Christian or an atheist to rule them with positive laws contrary to the Sharia of Allah the Almighty, then this elected person becomes a legitimate president.

We, people, resist the enslavement of individuals by humans, not to replace it with the enslavement of humans to their desires, but to the global system through the illusion of democracy and the veil of democracy.

Warning Against Exploiting Sympathy

Therefore, there is a high tone that wants to exploit the sympathy with Dr. Morsi for the benefit of these illegitimate means, which have wasted the ages and efforts of many Muslims who love their Lord and their religion. Some even write that the death of Dr. Morsi in this way will not deter us from the path of peacefulness and our peaceful struggle to the end. Of course, and it seems that his intention by peacefulness is that we remain turning in the corridors of democracy according to the rules of the game allowed by the international system.

Why, esteemed guests, do we not learn from our mistakes? We ask for forgiveness for those who have erred, and at the same time seek the right path. Therefore, I mourn Dr. Morsi as a Muslim killed by oppressors, not as a representative of legitimacy, nor as a representative of the truth with his methodology.

Response to Objectors to Showing Mercy

On the other hand, some will object to this mercy and say, "How can you show mercy to him when he said such and such statements?" But whoever's Islam is established with certainty, the name of Islam does not leave him except with certainty. And the door of preventing a Muslim from being taken out of Islam is wide as long as we have explained the danger of actions and rejected them. And we will put in the comments a series of articles in which we correct many of the concepts related to faith, its nullifiers, and the prevention of a Muslim from the religion. Whoever does not agree with it completely is not less than to make him excuse his opponent.

Is it possible that in all of this I have misjudged and not achieved the right balance? Maybe. And if there is something of that from me, I seek forgiveness from Allah for it, and I do not want but reform as much as I can. And whoever sees after that that he has erred in my right with good intention, then I forgive him to clarify and defend the poor servant and let not pride take him to sin.

Conclusion and Advice

In conclusion, esteemed guests, Allah the Almighty says: {Then We have put you on a way of the matter, so follow it and do not follow the desires of those who do not know}. The difference between the Sharia of the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the worlds, and on the other hand democracy and what we do not accept of paths, is not a trivial difference that can be compromised or disguised to people. And at the same time, we show mercy to those who have erred from the Muslims, for the people of the Sunnah know the truth and show mercy to the creation.

And do not expect me, esteemed guests, to respond to the comments that want to discuss the methodology of the movements. What has been detailed in dozens of episodes and articles cannot be shortened here in a few lines, but we will put links and whoever wants can refer to them.

We ask Allah the Almighty to have mercy on His servant Muhammad Morsi, and to have mercy on those who have died from the Muslims in the prisons of the oppressors, and to relieve the grief of those who remain of them, and we ask Him, the Most High, to take revenge on their oppressors, and to gather us all on the truth in this world and then as brothers on opposite couches in Paradise where there is no malice in the hearts. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
