So that Egypt may be saved
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah
How can Egypt be saved?
Brothers, the future outlook for Egypt appears bleak if those who are supposed to be trustees of their people among those affiliated with Islamic work do not correct their course. Therefore, we will present the dangers in this outlook, then offer the solution that we see as the only solution at this stage and every stage.
The Real Danger
Firstly, the danger is not in the conspiracy of the secularists, the remnants, and the agents of America and its minions. Allah has guaranteed that He will defend against them, foil their plots, make them losers, turn their expenditures into regrets for them, and make us prevail over them and defeat them. The fear of them is merely the whispering of Satan: "It is only Satan who makes [people] afraid of his devotees" - that is, he makes the believers among his devotees afraid. If you feel their presence and they come to mind, spit on your left three times and seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan, and you will forget them by Allah's permission.
However, brothers, this divine defense is conditional on conditions: "If you support Allah, He will support you," and "If you are patient and fear Allah, their schemes will not harm you at all," "So do not yield and call for peace while you are the uppermost, and Allah is with you," and "Whoever relies upon Allah, He is sufficient for him."
The real danger is that the majority of those affiliated with Islamic work have not supported Allah, nor have they been patient with the clear proof, nor have they been firm in their religion, nor have they called for peace and agreement with the enemies of the Sharia, nor have they relied upon their intelligence and understanding of their interests, which are isolated from the light of revelation. Thus, Allah has entrusted them to themselves, and they have lost His support and protection, glorified be He.
The danger lies in making the categorical principles of monotheism a matter of consideration and weighing. For the first time, the majority of those affiliated with Islamic work are uniting their people in the name of religion to vote for a constitution that makes legislation for humans instead of Allah, and they are calling them to approve the association of partners in legislation under the pretext of interest and committing the lesser of two evils. This is confusion and mixing in the application of the Sharia rules, and a serious distortion of the religion that the scholars of Salafism will see its ominous effects in their calls. This is an excess in sin and a deepening of it instead of repentance. This is not the place for elaboration, as the elaboration is spread in many words and articles, but we are here talking about the final result.
The danger is that people are now demanding the defense of the president and his decisions in the name of the Sharia, and that the Sharia is being traded with, either out of ignorance or intentionally, when people are called to elect the president in the name of the Sharia and to defend him and his legitimacy in the name of the Sharia, and then the president's policies have nothing to do with the Sharia, near or far. This is the danger that the Islamic camp has lost its immunity, and then the germs of the secularists, the remnants, and the agents will harm it, and it is inevitable.
The Solution
What is the solution then? The solution is not to increase the cup of concessions, for it is bitter and does not quench the thirst of the drinker. What we are suffering from in Egypt now are the effects of sins, so there must be repentance, not that we drown in it.
I will mention the solution and know that there are those who will describe me as foolish about this solution, and I am honored to be described with what the prophets were described with before and for the same reason.
The solution, Dr. Morsi, and you, the Salafi call, and the parties, the solution to save your country and the Islam of the people in it and the image of those who are affiliated with Islamic work, the solution to erase the sins that you have drawn in political work after the revolution, the solution so that your story changes from the worst story to an Islamic experience that is about to bury hope in the hearts of the nation to the most beautiful model, God willing, the solution so that you repent of your sin by the frightened speech about the application of the Sharia as if it will destroy the country and kill the people, as if you are more merciful to the people than their Creator.
The solution is for Dr. Muhammad Morsi to address his people, supported in this step by the scholars and the parties, and to say to his people sincerely, sincerely without trading in religion, to say to them: "You are the people of Egypt, a people who are pleased with Allah as a Lord, and with Islam as a religion, and with Muhammad, peace be upon him, as a prophet. And it is not for a believer, male or female, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter that they have a choice in their affair. Therefore, in response to the command of Allah first, and because returning to the truth is better than persisting in falsehood, and to get the country out of this difficult predicament, and to seek the help and mercy of Allah, I know that there is no immunity for me, Muhammad Morsi, nor for my decisions, nor for the constitutional declarations, and that every matter of modern Jahiliyyah is under these two feet. And I announce after that my adherence to the Sharia of Islam as it was revealed to Muhammad with all its details and particulars, I will not leave anything of it nor will I present the matter of Allah to humans to return it or accept it. The laws now are all as Allah has commanded, and the application is according to the capacity and energy, and I have explained that in a word: Do we ask the workers for Islam for more than their capacity? If you accept me, my people, as president after that, then let it be, otherwise, I will be honored to be harmed in the way of Allah."
This is the solution and this is the straight path, for Dr. Morsi to do that because it is the command of Allah and the structure of sincere repentance, not because it is a temporary solution and an exit for him from his crisis, of course. As if I see the smiles of the mockers who see in my speech superficiality, naivety, and ignorance of reality, balances of power, and systems of rule.
Addressing Fears and Objections
What prevents you, Dr. Morsi and your associates, from declaring something like this? Are you afraid for yourselves or for the Egyptian people? Let us discuss this with the mindset of someone who believes in Allah and His laws.
If you fear for yourselves that the people might rise up against you, do you not want to leave the country in a maze for your sake? Do you not deserve a fate like that of the prophets who were killed by their people before, and like the fate of the believer in Surah Ya-Sin who said, "I wish my people knew what my Lord has forgiven me and made me one of the honored ones"?
Or are you afraid for your people? Your people will either support you and defend you in this, so congratulations to you at that time, that Egypt will be the first to glory, and the knot will be untied on the enemies of Islam, and the nation will wage its clear battle against its open enemies, and your action at that time will be like that of Saladin when he ended the rule of the slaves and liberated Al-Aqsa.
Or will the general public of your people rise up against you, which we do not expect or think of in the Egyptian people. If the people do that, then they do not deserve you, Dr. Morsi and those with him. If your people rise up against you because you want to apply the Sharia, then your people do not deserve you. Ibn Al-Athir said about the Abbasid caliph, the righteous Abu Nasr Muhammad bin Ahmad: "He said and I have not ceased since I took the caliphate fearing for him the shortness of time and the corruption of its people, and I say to many of our friends what frightens me is that the duration of his caliphate will be short because our time and its people do not deserve his caliphate." So it was a rule of only nine months.
Or will the dispute, Dr. Morsi and your associates, arise between your supporters and your opponents over this decision? If harm occurs at that time to people defending the Sharia, then it is for the sake of Allah. We do not like disturbances nor do we like internal strife, but it is not better to be stable while setting aside the Sharia, for this heralds a collective punishment from Allah, the Almighty. When the preventers of Zakat and those who apostatized from the Sharia in the time of Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, there was internal strife in the same country, but it was a price that had to be paid to prevent the loss of religion. And we see nothing but that if you succeed in showing the sincerity of your repentance and the establishment of the Sharia and the support of the religion so that people do not doubt your sincerity this time, we see nothing but that they will support you against every whispering devil of mankind.
Or are you afraid of the Christians whom some of you fear as they fear Allah or even more? Does applying the Sharia mean throwing the Christians as food for the fish? Do they not have rights in the Sharia? Are you more knowledgeable about their rights than Allah?
Or do you, Dr. Morsi and the Salafi sheikhs, regardless of the people's reaction, see the country as unprepared for the Sharia and that the Sharia is not suitable for it at the present time? I congratulate you then that you have ended where Hosni Mubarak began. I congratulate you then that you have ended where Hosni Mubarak began, instead of continuing the political process.
Alternatives to the Current Situation
On the other hand, if the situation remains as it is, we see nothing but one of two outcomes: either an agreement with the enemies of the Sharia, with more concessions from your side, and they will be pleased with you after you follow their religion, so then you have declared a war from Allah. Or a civil war will occur, but it is not a war for the Sharia, but a war between misguidance and something more misguided, a war for a constitution that makes human sovereignty over the rule of Allah. And the danger is that you will plunge the country and the people into a war in the name of religion, but the religion has no share in it. That you will plunge the country and the people into a war in which matters have become so confused that some can say, "You are not the custodians of religion, nor are we infidels."
Even if the opponents of the president are all infidels deserving of death, what about their families who do not oppose the Sharia and see their relatives killed in their eyes not for the sake of the Sharia but for worldly competition? Will you also intervene in feuds with them? And what about those of you and your supporters who will be killed? If their souls ascend to their Creator, will He ask them, "For what were you killed?" Will they say, "We were killed, O Lord, for a constitution that makes the word of the people supreme in the hope that we will make Your word supreme later through parliamentary constitutional struggle and fearing the writing of a more polytheistic constitution than it"? This is the real danger that the country will enter into a war of the killer and the killed, which is not for the sake of Allah.
Call to Action
O you who object to this request, ask yourself: Is this request right or misguidance? So what is there after the truth except misguidance? Is Dr. Morsi's demand to apply the Sharia misguidance while the approval of this constitution as it is right?
O Dr. Muhammad Morsi, do it and announce the application of the Sharia sincerely. And then the people will divide into two camps: a camp of faith with no hypocrisy in it, and a camp of hypocrisy with no faith in it, so that those who perish may perish with clear evidence and those who live may live with clear evidence. And then we will support you, by Allah we will support you, and defend you and ransom you. We know that hearts have been imbued with democracy after claiming it as a means, but we say what we say as an excuse to your Lord and perhaps they will fear.
And I say to those who ask me: Will we go down in the millions supporting the president's decisions? If the president establishes the religion of Allah sincerely, then ransom him with your lives, your children, and your wealth, otherwise, keep them to yourselves, for the foam will go away as froth, the foam will go away as froth, and then you will have the task of repairing what they have corrupted.
I ask Allah, the Great Lord of the Honorable Throne, to guide Dr. Muhammad Morsi and the parties in Egypt to establish His religion and save Egypt from danger and revive hope in the nation. And the last of our prayers is praise to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
