Greetings, dear brothers.

Introduction: Love for the Sharia, Not Human Models

We may agree or disagree with a model here or there that claims to apply the Sharia, and our goal here is not to support or disavow any of these human models. Rather, we should remain lovers of Allah's Sharia, and never imagine for a moment that it is no longer suitable for our time, or doubt its justice and mercy. Those who misapply it bear the sin upon themselves and it is not attributed to Allah's Sharia.

Our goal here is to remain lovers of the Sharia, eager to empower it, striving for it, proud of it, and to meet Allah with a pure heart for the Sharia that He has chosen for us.

The Nature of the Sharia

The Sharia we are talking about is the Sharia of the Most Merciful, the Compassionate, the Forbearing, the One who says: "Does He not know who has created? And He is the Most Subtle, the All-Aware." It is the one whose Lord commands justice, benevolence, and giving to relatives, and forbids indecency, evil, and transgression.

It is the one that Allah has sent down as a relief to His servants, knowing their weakness, and He said: "Allah wishes to lighten (the burden) for you; for man was created weak."

The Sharia and Its Role in Society

The Sharia we are talking about is not something that rulers impose on the ruled, as if we are not addressed by it, as if it is imposed upon us from above. It is the one where the nation becomes one body, and frees itself from the chains of the international system that enslaves it, humiliates it, and plunders its resources. It is the one where the status of the Muslim individual is honored in its state, more than the status of any individual in any other state. Thus, the state of the Sharia triumphs for the individual, and moves armies to claim his right, liberate him from his captivity, and avenge his blood, just as the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, mobilized the army of Mu'tah, expelled the Banu Qainuqa, and pledged his companions to death in the Pledge of Ridwan, and prepared the expedition of Usama. All of that was for the sake of individuals.

The Benefits of the Sharia

The Sharia we are talking about is the one that prevents corruptors from plundering the Muslims' money and storing it in Switzerland while their neighbors eat from garbage cans.

It is the one that strives to provide for the woman, the man, the young, the old, the Muslim, and the Christian with food, drink, treatment, safety, dignity, and education.

It is the one that honors the woman and protects her from turning her body into a cheap commodity, so that she may embark on building the earth and excel in the fields of science and the benefit of humanity.

It is the one where Muslims choose those who will rule them by Allah's Sharia, showing mercy to them, and making its severity upon the fighting disbelievers.

The Sharia, Justice, and Good Assumptions

It is the one where good assumptions prevail, and no one is labeled with treachery or disbelief without a legitimate legal evidence, and the accused is given a fair trial with the opportunity to defend himself.

It is the one where people are provided with what they need to satisfy their desires with the permissible, so that the punishment is rarely imposed on those who, despite being provided with the permissible, refuse except to corrupt and breach the doors of the forbidden.

The Essence of the Sharia

This is the Sharia, my lords, a pure atmosphere in which people live and children grow up, and everyone contributes to its protection. This is the Sharia: purity, chastity, dignity, generosity, forbearance, gentleness, and blessing.

The Sharia and Tolerance of Dissidents

If the Prophet's community, which reached the pinnacle of establishing the Sharia, could accommodate someone like Abdullah ibn Abi ibn Salul, the arch-hypocrite, despite his harm to the Prophet and the Muslims, it was because he did not openly declare his disbelief.

"Be just, O Muhammad, for you have not been just," and yet he patiently responds, "Woe to you, who will be just after me if I am not just." The Sharia we are talking about may allow fools to publicly insult the Muslim ruler, and he forgives and bears with them, for he does not seek revenge for himself, but he is angry when the sanctities of Allah are violated.

Response to Those Who Fear the Sharia

This is the Sharia we are talking about. If there is anyone who is choked by this pure atmosphere, whose nose is offended, whose eyes are burned by the light of the Sharia, and who is enraged by purity, just as the people of Lot were enraged, because he cannot live except by public fornication, which is easy to prove with four witnesses, or by drinking alcohol, which is evident to the community from his breath and his reckless behavior, or by stealing from the sustenance of others, while the Sharia has blocked his path.

Then, let him fear the Sharia, so that we may be rid of his wailing, screaming, and fear-mongering about the Sharia, for he does not represent even the disobedient Muslims whose eyes may fill with tears at the mention of Allah and His Messenger, peace be upon him, and who love the Sharia we are talking about in their hearts, and will contribute to its establishment.

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
