"Surely Foreigners Understand Better Than Us"
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. May Allah bless your morning, dear guests.
Introduction: Responding to the Doubt "Are You More Knowledgeable Than the Scholars?"
When we discuss theories of false science and Western scholars who deny Allah the Almighty and claim that the universe and creatures came about by chance, a group of people always confronts us, saying: "Do you mean you are more knowledgeable than all these Western scholars? The theory of evolution is believed in by thousands or hundreds of thousands of scholars. There are thousands of books written about it, and thousands of universities that teach it. Will you be more knowledgeable than all of them?"
Listen, people, apart from the fact that this is a form of renting the mind, psychological defeat, and feeling inferior to the West, I would like to clarify a very important fact and focus with you.
Important Fact: The Disbelief of Scholars Does Not Negate the Existence of Allah
Now, people, when there is a fact as clear as the existence of Allah the Almighty, His oneness, and the perfection of His attributes, if a large group of natural scientists disbelieve in it, this does not indicate the correctness of their belief. Rather, it indicates the power of Allah the Almighty, who has veiled them from the clearest of truths, which is His existence, glorified and exalted be He.
I mean, you find that biologists and physicists have almost this much intelligence, and they produce many scientific papers, write books and research, and may have books filled with very complex mathematical equations. However, despite this, they are veiled from the clearest of truths, the truth that everything in the universe indicates, which is that these creatures and this universe have a Creator.
Evidence from the Quran
Let us connect this speech and derive evidence for it from the Quran. What is the speech? What is the principle that we derive from the Quran? That the disbelief of these people is not evidence of the correctness of their belief, but rather evidence of the power of Allah, who has veiled them with their desires and their evil deeds from seeing the greatest of truths. Let us connect the verses with each other.
Surah Al-A'raf: "I Will Turn Away from My Signs"
Allah the Almighty says in Surah Al-A'raf: {I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant on the earth without right.} (7:146)
Now, when you hear "signs" in the Quran, do not always limit your mind to the narrated signs in the Quran, but also remember the visible signs in the universe, in the self, and in the horizons.
{I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant on the earth without right.} Allah turns them away from His signs. How does He turn them away from His signs? One of the forms of turning away is that they do not take the cosmic phenomena as evidence of Allah the Almighty, and this is a turning away from Allah for them to perceive Him and know His greatness and existence, glorified and exalted be He.
{I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant on the earth without right * And even if they see every sign, they will not believe in it.} No matter what evidence is presented to them, they will not believe. {And even if they see every sign, they will not believe in it, and if they see the path of righteousness, they will not take it as a path, and if they see the path of error, they will take it as a path.}
Why, O my Lord, did You turn them away? And your Lord is not unjust to the servants. He said: {That is because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.} This is the continuation of the verse. {That is because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.}
They rushed to denial, and Allah the Almighty warns against denial from the beginning, that man does not even try to present the evidence of the truth, but rather rejects the evidence of the truth and denies it directly. {And We will turn their hearts and their eyes, as they did not believe in it the first time, and We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly.} They rejected Islam the first time, rejected the truths of the universe and the evidence of the existence of Allah the Almighty the first time, so the Lord turns their hearts and eyes. {That is because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.} They were heedless of Allah the Almighty and did not ponder His signs.
Surah Al-Jathiyah: "Have You Seen Him Who Took His Desire as His God?"
Now this verse is from Surah Al-A'raf, let us now connect it with a verse from Surah Al-Shura, from Surah Al-Jathiyah. Allah the Almighty says in Surah Al-Jathiyah: {Have you seen him who has taken his desire as his god?} (45:23)
Look now, Allah the Almighty is amazed at His power, how Allah the Almighty is able to obscure the sights and insights of these people so that they do not see the greatest of truths. {Have you seen him who has taken his desire as his god and Allah has led him astray knowingly.} Does he have knowledge? A great professor, he has thousands of publications or hundreds of publications. {And Allah has led him astray knowingly and sealed his hearing and his heart and placed a veil over his sight.} He does not see the evidence of the truth, nor does he hear it, nor does his heart accept anything from the evidence of the truth. {And placed a veil over his sight. Then who will guide him after Allah? Will you not remember?}
Therefore, the existence of disbelief among these people and their denial of Allah the Almighty, while they are professors and have university intelligence and publications and are very intelligent and their IQ is very high, the existence of disbelief among them is evidence of the power of Allah, who threatened them and said that their knowledge is of no benefit in seeing the clearest of truths, and sealed their hearing and heart and placed a veil over their sight. {Then who will guide him after Allah? Will you not remember?}
See, brothers, Surah Al-Jathiyah, meaning if you asked me which Surah is the most suitable to address the atheists or speak about the atheists, I would tell you that Surah Al-Jathiyah, glorified be Allah, because of this verse and the verses before and after it.
The Connection Between the Verses of Surah Al-Jathiyah
Peace be upon you and mercy of Allah.
This verse that we just mentioned: {Have you then considered him who has taken his desire as his god?} Go back to the verse before it, what did Allah the Almighty say: {And Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth and in order that every soul may be recompensed what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.} (45:22)
So, Allah the Almighty created the heavens and the earth with truth, not as these people say, that it came about haphazardly, by mere chance, from nothing, and employing the theory of quantum in an atheistic way, no, no, no. {And Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth and in order that every soul may be recompensed what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.} (45:22) This was also in response to the atheists.
Okay, let's go to the verse after the one we were talking about, after Allah the Almighty said: {Have you then considered him who has taken his desire as his god?} What is the verse after that? Listen, Allah the Almighty said: {And they say, "There is not but our life of this world. We die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And of that they have no knowledge. They are only assuming.} (45:24)
This verse also can be used as evidence against these atheists who said: {There is not but our life of this world. We die and live, and nothing destroys us except time.} (45:24) Do not talk to us about a Lord who gives life and causes death. Look, glorified be Allah, the harmony of the verses.
And go back with me to the beginning of the surah, Surah Al-Jathiyah. Now, contemplate the connection of the topic with each other. Allah the Almighty said: {Ham * The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. * Indeed, in the heavens and earth are signs for the believers. * And in your creation and what He disperses of creatures are signs for a people who are certain. * And in the alternation of night and day and what Allah sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and the turning about of the winds are signs for a people who reason. * Those are the verses of Allah, We convey them to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe?} (45:1-6)
Now, look at the beauty of these verses. Allah the Almighty spoke about cosmic phenomena: {Indeed, in the heavens and earth are signs for the believers. * And in your creation and what He disperses of creatures are signs for a people who are certain. * And in the alternation of night and day and what Allah sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and the turning about of the winds are signs for a people who reason.} (45:3-5) The Quran that tells us about them: {Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe?} (45:6)
Stop at this part of the verse: {Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe?} (45:6) If a person is not satisfied with all these visible evidences of the existence of Allah, the oneness of Allah, and the attributes of Allah, what will benefit him? What will he believe in? If the clearest of all truths is the existence of Allah, His oneness, and His attributes, and that He created all this, if the clearest of all truths he does not believe in, what will he believe in? It is more appropriate that he does not believe in anything, because this is the clearest thing.
And indeed, this is their fate, the fate of those who deny Allah the Almighty is that they reach the point of denying the obvious truths, denying causality, denying the facts and the self-evident truths, denying the existence of absolute truths, becoming doubtful about everything, fluid about everything, having nothing clear, even denying the innate moral truths, and becoming to him a matter of morality is a fluid matter in which there are no truths. {Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe?} (45:6)
Therefore, its meaning is that he who does not believe in Allah the Almighty, it is more appropriate that he does not believe in anything, and that he who does not believe in Allah the Almighty will reach the point of denying everything, until he has no absolute truth. And Allah the Almighty knows best His intention.
Conclusion and Recommendation
After we finish this word, brothers and sisters, review Surah Al-Jathiyah and see how beautiful it is. Review the verses in your minds with this background that the existence of those who deny Allah, despite their intelligence and the abundance of their knowledge, is not evidence of the correctness of their belief, but rather evidence of the power of Allah who threatens them and said: {I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant.} (7:146), and who was amazed by His power when He said: {Then who guides him after Allah? So will they not remember?} (45:23)
May Allah guide us and guide you. So, no, brothers and sisters, to thousands of scientists, thousands of books, no psychological defeat and no feeling of inferiority. And I hope that for this meaning to be strengthened in you, go back to an episode from the Journey of Certainty titled "The Sleep of the Righteous." And see how these great scientists, scientific books, and scientific universities, when the matter comes to what concerns the theory of evolution that they want as an alternative to Allah the Almighty, see the deception and lying and how they sleep on the information for 130 years and more. Go back to the episode and watch it.
May Allah accept from us and from you. Peace be upon you and mercy of Allah.
