The Real Dialogue Between Allah and Atheists - Not the Hypothetical One
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and a good morning to you, dear brothers.
Some people are filled with compassion, humanity, mercy, and kindness towards the death of atheists, and at the same time, they insult some of the Companions of the Prophet, those who wrote down the revelation and transmitted the hadith, with the language of street children. They present us with a hypothetical dialogue between Allah, the Exalted, the Lord of Honor, and one of the deceased promoters of atheism.
The Real Dialogue, Not the Hypothetical One
Glory be to Allah, even in this matter, the Quran did not leave us room to philosophize and hypothesize, but there is a real, not hypothetical, dialogue between Allah, the Exalted, and the atheists and disbelievers in general in many verses. Come, let us see this dialogue.
The Dialogue of the Atheist with His Lord on the Day of Judgment
Growing Up in a Non-Muslim Family
If the atheist says on the Day of Judgment to Allah, the Exalted: "O Lord, I grew up in a Christian family, and their religion was not convincing. I imitated my parents, then I saw that their words were not logical, and in the name of this religion, I committed many crimes and atrocities. Therefore, out of humanitarian concern, I left this religion."
He will be answered from Surah Al-A'raf in His saying, the Exalted: "{And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants and made them witness against themselves, [His saying], 'Am I not your Lord?' They said, 'Yes, we have testified,' lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection, 'Indeed, we were of this unaware.' Or [lest] you should say, 'It was only our forefathers who associated others with Allah before, and we were [merely] descendants after them. Then would you destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?'"}
O Lord, our ancestors, we grew up in non-Muslim families and imitated our parents, then we were not convinced by our parents' religion. Will You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done? And not even a great philosopher to prove the existence of Allah, the Exalted.
Being Busy with Sciences
If the atheist says on the Day of Judgment: "O my Lord, I was busy with sciences. O my Lord, I lived for 76 years and never had the leisure to ask: I wonder who is my Creator? What does my Creator want from me? Why did He create me? Where is the destiny after death? I was not free for these great existential questions, O my Lord."
He will be answered by Allah, the Exalted, in Surah Fatir: "{And they will cry out therein, 'Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - not what we were doing.' Did We not extend for you a long life wherein whoever would remember was to remember therein, and there came to you the warner? So taste it, and the wrongdoers will not have a helper.}"
Not Wronging Anyone
If the atheist says: "O Lord, I did not wrong anyone. I did not even kill an ant, O Lord. I was humane."
He will be answered by Allah, the Exalted, in Surah As-Sajda: "{And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord but turns away from them and forgets what his hands have put forth? Indeed, We have set veils over their hearts lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if you invite them to guidance, they will never be guided thither.}"
And he will be answered from Surah An-Nahl: "{That they may bear their burdens complete on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they mislead without knowledge. Indeed, evil is that which they bear.}"
And he will be answered from Surah Ibrahim: "{Have you not seen those who exchange the favor of Allah for disbelief and settle their people in the home of ruin? Hell, they will enter it, and wretched is the resting place.}"
You came with knowledge, you came with intelligence, you came with knowledge of physics and other sciences. This intelligence and this knowledge, do you use it to disbelieve people? Is there a greater crime than this? Except for the believers.
Because Allah, the Exalted, said: "{Those who argue about the verses of Allah without any authority having come to them - great is the hatred [in which they are held] in the sight of Allah and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus does Allah set seals upon every heart of arrogant tyrant.}"
Those who argue about the verses of the Quran and the verses of Allah in the universe and deny that this universe has a Creator, their actions are detestable, and their words are detestable, and their disbelief is detestable. But to whom? To Allah and to those who have believed. As for those who did not appreciate Allah as He should be appreciated, for them, killing an ant is more heinous than killing faith in the hearts of people.
Not Being Arrogant
If the atheist says on the Day of Judgment: "O Lord, I was not arrogant."
He will be answered by Allah, the Exalted, in Surah Ghafir: "{Indeed, those who argue about the verses of Allah without any authority having come to them - in their breasts is nothing except pride, [the extent of which] they will never reach. So seek refuge in Allah; indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Seeing.}"
And Allah, the Exalted, is more truthful than what is said.
Good Deeds and Humanity
If the atheist says: "O Lord, I was humane. I did good deeds, I stood in noble positions, and great humanitarian positions."
He will be answered in Surah Al-Furqan: "{And We will turn away from their good deeds just as We turned away from their peers before. And We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly.}"
And he will be answered that Abu Talib, the Prophet's uncle, peace be upon him, who presented more to humanity than you, as he supported Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his religion, and ransomed himself, his children, and his wealth for it, but he died in disbelief when the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "I do not ask forgiveness for him as long as I am alive."
And he will be answered in the many verses that show that the disbelievers' deeds are nullified. They may be rewarded for them in this world with fame, praise from people, glorification, even statues made for them, but they will not be rewarded for them in the Hereafter, which they did not believe in, nor will they be rewarded with seeing their Lord, whose existence they denied.
Conclusion of the Dialogue
So, brothers, the dialogue is present, and the last dialogue you will see will be: "{Enter it and be silent.} And thus, the dialogue between Allah and those who denied Him will be cut off. {Enter it and be silent.} As in Surah Al-Mu'minun.
Call to Contemplate the Quran
I truly wonder: Do the people to whom we present this empty speech, the hypothetical dialogues, do they read the Quran? And if they read the Quran, do they understand it? Do they contemplate it?
Brothers, we are about to enter Ramadan, and there is a great opportunity to read the Quran with contemplation. What do you say: I have completed the Quran twice, three, four times. No, by Allah, you do not complete it even once. Read half, but with contemplation, with contemplation until you distinguish between truth and falsehood.
Conclusion and Supplication
We ask Allah, the Exalted, to guide us and you to what He loves and is pleased with. And in the end, we say: A man is with whom he loves. Whoever loves Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his party, we ask Allah to gather him with him. And whoever argues for those who close themselves off and defends them and has mercy on them, while at the same time insulting people from the Companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, we ask Allah to gather him with whom he loves.
Peace be upon you.
