These are the causes of humiliation, so beware of them
Renew your heart with the Quran, so that the soul may find peace in faith, and follow it diligently, and seek with it the outpouring of contentment and the clouds of forgiveness.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear brothers, everyone loves dignity and hates humiliation. Life is either honor or humiliation, and only the ignorant are pleased with humiliation. But beware, you may do something that leads you to this humiliation. It is disobedience.
Reasons for Humiliation, Beware of Them
Evidence from the Book of Allah
What is the evidence from the Book of Allah that disobedience leads to humiliation? Allah the Almighty says in describing the Jews in verse 112 of Surah Al-Imran: "And they kill the prophets without right, that is because they have been disobedient and they used to transgress."
Notice, my brothers, Allah has mentioned to us the reasons for the humiliation of the Jews so that we may beware of falling into them. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "You will follow the ways of those who were before you," meaning, consider that you will fall into the same mistakes and will lead to the same results. Therefore, the talk about the Jews concerns us so that we know the place of the fault and correct it.
The Four Reasons for Humiliation
In this verse, Allah the Almighty mentions four reasons for humiliation, hence the punishment inflicted on some people:
The First Reason: Disbelieving in the Signs of Allah
First: "They disbelieve in the signs of Allah."
The Second Reason: Killing the Prophets and Abandoning the Callers
Second: "They kill the prophets without right." This is similar in our time to killing the callers by calling them prophets, peace be upon them. The common people remained silent and did not support them, preferring the world, cowardice, and fear of humiliation at the hands of the oppressors. Verily, Allah the Almighty will not honor and elevate those who are in such a state. How can He honor those who do not honor His religion and those who call to it? Let each one of us look at what he has presented to the callers who are oppressed and constrained in any place.
The Third Reason: Disobedience
The third reason for humiliation: "That is because they have been disobedient." Disobedience in all its forms leads to that, O servant, so beware. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "I have made humiliation and degradation for those who oppose my command." "I have made humiliation and degradation for those who oppose my command."
The Fourth Reason: Transgression
The fourth reason for humiliation: "And they used to transgress." The transgressor often transgresses and oppresses others because he is taken by pride in sin, wanting to honor himself at the expense of others, so humiliation comes to him from Allah the Almighty. But if you are oppressed and are patient for the sake of Allah and do not respond to oppression with oppression, then you have the hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "Three things he swore by," and among them: "And no servant is wronged but that he is patient with it except that Allah increases him thereby in honor."
Conclusion
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, there are four reasons for humiliation: disbelieving in the signs of Allah, abandoning the callers to Allah and leaving them to suffer oppression for their call, disobedience, and transgression. Let us beware of them so that Allah may honor us. Whoever wants honor, to Allah belongs all honor.
