Episode 4 - The Rope of God
Introduction: The Lifeline
Revitalize your heart with the Quran so that your soul may find tranquility in faith. Recite it at all times and seek His bounty and the clouds of forgiveness through it.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
Brother, imagine that your foot slipped from the edge and you are about to fall into a valley. A rope is thrown to you, and you grab it. What matters to you about this rope? That it is strong, and that the person holding it, who will pull you up, is powerful and capable of saving you.
The Quran is the Rope of Allah
The Quran is the rope of Allah, the connection between us and Allah, which saves us from falling into the abyss. Where in the Quran do we find this meaning? Allah the Most High said: {And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided}. We will stop at the phrase "the rope of Allah."
Interpretation of the Rope of Allah
Ibn Arabi said in the interpretation of the Quran: "The most apparent is that it is the Book of Allah." And this is supported by the hadith narrated by Muslim that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "They said yes, he said: Then this Quran is a cause - meaning a rope - one end of which is with Allah and the other end is in your hands, so hold on to it, for you will never go astray nor will you perish after that." Al-Albani said about it: "Its chain of narration is authentic according to the condition of Muslim."
Therefore, in the Quran is the rope, one end of which is with Allah. The rope is strong, and the one holding it is the Almighty, may He be glorified. So it remains for us to hold on to the other end with our hands and teeth and cling to it so that we do not fall.
The Importance of Holding on to the Rope
The more we cling to it, the closer we come to salvation, and the more we slacken in holding on to the Quran, the greater the danger of falling into the abyss. And the fault is not in the rope nor in the one holding it from the other end, but the fault is in us at that time.
Therefore, {And hold firmly to the rope of Allah}. In the same meaning, His saying, may He be glorified, in Surah Az-Zukhruf: {So hold on to what has been revealed to you. Indeed, you are upon a straight path}. The one who holds on clings to the rope with his hands and teeth and wraps himself around it with his neck, trunk, and legs.
Conclusion
The lesson learned from today's reminder: The Quran is the rope of Allah, the more you hold on to it, the more you are saved.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
