Episode 5 - The Honor of Adhering to the Quran

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, my brothers and sisters.

Introduction

We mentioned in a previous episode that the Quran is the rope of Allah. Allah commanded us to hold onto it to be saved, saying: {So hold firmly to the rope which He has given you, and be steadfast. You are responsible for your deeds.} [Quran 3:103]

Allah, the Almighty, also mentioned that the Quran contains honor and elevation for those who believe and act upon it. Where did Allah mention this? Right after the aforementioned verse.

The Quran is Honor and Elevation

Surah Az-Zukhruf: {And indeed, it is a reminder for you and your people, and you will be questioned.} [Quran 43:44]

So, He said: {And indeed, it is a reminder for you and your people, and you will be questioned.} This is in Surah Az-Zukhruf, verse 44. {A reminder for you and your people} means honor, elevation, dignity, and respect. This is the reward for those who hold onto the rope that Allah holds from the other end.

Surah Al-Anbiya: {Indeed, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your reminder. Then will you not reason?} [Quran 21:10]

Is there another verse with the same meaning that the Quran is elevation and honor for those who hold onto it? Yes, where? In Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 10: {Indeed, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your reminder. Then will you not reason?}

This means that those who hold onto the Quran will have honor, elevation, high status, and good mention in this world and the Hereafter.

Do you not understand this great honor so that you call others to read the Quran? Do you not understand so that you call others to contemplate the Quran? Do you not understand so that you turn away from the speech of the Lord of the worlds and busy yourselves with listening to trivialities and songs that incite disobedience to the Lord of the worlds? Will you exchange that which is lower for that which is better? Does a rational person do that? Do you not understand so that you act upon what is in the Quran?

Noble Hadith: "Indeed, Allah raises some people with this Book and puts down others with it"

And the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was truthful when he said - as in Sahih Muslim -: "Indeed, Allah raises some people with this Book and puts down others with it."

Therefore, holding onto the Quran is elevation in status and high rank in this world and the Hereafter.
